Say you had to live in either metro area and you make $175k a year. Where do you choose?

*Four pages in and the running count is:

NY 28

LA 33

man... that's hard.
i love ny. my brother lives in LA and loves it.
he says people in cali are excited to wake up and start their day, because the weather is so damn nice. 70 and always sunny.

i still think i'd want ny though. i like stacked cities. i don't like spread out cities. frick houston.

LA, though both are great cities.

It has everything LA has to offer and more.

I'd do NYC based on personal preference, but LA would probably be the right choice on neutral factors.

You'll do better on 175K a year in (greater) LA than NY.

Agreed. If I'm living in NY, I want to live in the parts where 175k affords you a small two bedroom apartment.

There are more options for places I would want to live in LA where 175k can get you a little more.

However, that isn't enough to live the lifestyle I would want in either city.

If money was no object, I would prefer NYC.

L.A. ALL DAY LONG! You can live steps from the beach and still have plenty of spending money making 175k. In NYC you are living in just an ok area in an ok place.
