I early voted today in Dallas. The man in front of me had a voter registration card but an out of state license. Guy behind the desk pointed to the pictogram of what Id's are acceptable, out of state licenses were not on the list. He did not go quietly into that good night.
Lady that escorted me to the booth and plugged my cartridge into the machine did not speak to me or give me any instruction. The other pol workers I saw were walking people through the first screen and then telling them not to leave the spot until they saw the screen that showed the vote was registered which was also on a pictograms.
Things were tense.

The nerve of that state. I can't believe they require you to prove that you are who you say you are and are a resident.

You forgot something.

"He can vote," Harris County clerk Stan Stannart said. "What the system has put in place is to vote provisionally and then get the ID and then get your ballot counted.

If only there was some kind of backup built in to avoid these mess ups. You know like a week or so to get the proper ID and have your vote count, if only.

Stanart said a provisional ballot would have been acceptable. The provisional ballot would give a voter six days after election day to prove their identity and that the veteran could have voted at home.
damn the truth is such a pain in the arse for a good talking point.

Military?
This is very common. For many years I had a driver license from TX (where I was stationed for several years) but was registered to vote in NC (where I was stationed at the time). Most states will accept an out of state drivers license (even if it is out of date/expired) as long as you have a military ID with it.

Do states cross check? I mean from your experience you could have voted in both states if no cross checking was taking place?

Read the story. He can still vote with a provisional ballot.

They should probably do away with voting.

Voting laws in this country are so fricked up and inconsistent and open to fraud it's ridiculous. We're like a fricking third world Banana Republic.

Colorado is the worst now. You are correct though

Honestly do not know. Registered in the states I was stationed in.

An out of state license without a military ID?
If he planned on voting there, he should have one of the valid forms of ID. It's not like this election snuck up on us. I do not feel sorry for him.
