I'm strongly against it, honestly when I see hate ads it makes me dislike the person doing them more than the person they are bashing. I especially dislike the ones that take a one sentence clip of the other person and spin it out of control

It's part of the deal.

I would never support censorship.

ETA: fwiw, I don't care for them either.

I dislike them and think they are counterproductive; however, they should be free to run them. I just wish there were more natural consequences (e.g., turned people off) so they would stop using them.

Well, with so many awful things that politicians do, there is certainly enough material to make many, many attack ads.

They make me dislike politicians more and in no way induce to me to actually vote.

How in the frick can you run against somebody like harry reid or nancy pelosi (or a toad who votes with them 98% of the time) and NOT hate that person? It's no different than hating roaches.

Generally I don't like them but what if what is being said is 100% true and not just opportune political spin?

Negative ads work and so that's why people use them.

Also, it's freedom of speech.

I don't refer to them as hate ads. Its negative campaigning and if the negative revelations are true than I have no problem with them.

I do believe for every negative reveal there should be a positive counter included. In other words, don't rely on the negative exclusively. Provide solutions as alternatives.

The term 'negative' is too subjective to have any meaning with political ads. For example, if Cassidy says "you should not vote for Mary because she supports Obama 97% of the time" is that a negative ad? Some would say yes... others would say no.

Funny how Bill Cassidy's entire campaign platform is that he is not Mary Landrieu and his strategy is to put out nothing but attack ads.
