re: Speaking as objectively as possible, we probably lose one more game this season.

See, this is the problem, you capricious superfans get too deep in the shitter when they lose and too high in the clouds when they win.
Which upcoming games do you think they lose and why? You need to offer more than the "LOL YALL ARE HOMERS" bit if you want to be taken seriously.

i wonder if they'll flex the time of the Saints-49ers game next week. It is set for 12pm.
wouldn't be shocked if got bumped back to 3:15 or 3:25 as America's game of the week. I like late afternoon kickoffs myself but I think it would benefit the Saints more to have the game at 12pm. San Fran playing early in a different time zone might throw them off a little.
agree on Cincy and Baltimore. The Ravens aren't that good on the road but amazingly we don't hear about it a lot from the media.
Cincinnati's D isn't as good this year without Mike Zimmer it seems like.
Baltimore doesn't have hardly any weapons on offense. I think Steve Smith will slow down as the year goes on.

Sure, we lose 2 more on the road because none of those are gimmes and we lose one at home because we're not going undefeated at home another year. But, yes we win the division.
So which individual teams beat us and why? Your reasoning is pretty shitty.

If Green isn't close to 100% (he isn't right now), I almost hope that we put White on him and put Lewis on Sanu. Not likely, but whatever. If we start off that way and it doesn't work out, put Lewis on Green.
And from what I've read, Green isn't going to be 100% this season.

I'm not trying to argue for either side, but I do want to point out that few, if any, saw us losing to the Browns or Lions or even Dallas.
Hell we could roll the rest of the games and then lose to TB.
That said I think we at least go 6-2 the rest of the way with no guess at who the 2 might be because it could be any of them.

And I'm willing to ban bet.

If that's short for banana bet then I'm your huckleberry.

I'd be taken more seriously by objective analysts than anyone in here saying they're only going to lose one more.
Specifically, which will they will lose, I don't know. If I did I'd bet the hell out of them. But, they've got 5 games against solid contenders and one game against the Falcons which is usually close.
Think objectively and figure it out. the Bengals, ravens , Steelers, 49ers and Bears are all easily capable of beating us. It's the NFL not NCAA. The difference between winning and losing is much narrower.

Lions was definitely up in the air, even before the shite start of the season. The difference is, the defense seems to have reverted back to 2013 form after Rob Ryan, by his own word, decided to simplify the playbook. I believe that we can win out based on talent, but even our best Saints teams manage to frick random games up. Hopefully the desperation to get as many wins as possible overrides that, but whatever. I just think that we're a better team than everyone we have yet to play. We've just fricked up a legit top 5 team in GB and won a solid road game. I'm expecting big things.

I agree, I was one of the few that wanted Mosley really badly.
I thought he was going to be a Kuechly/David/Bowman/Willis type of LB that will make an impact. Imagine this improved Lofton next to Mosley, we could be set on defense for a while.
8 games:
76 tackles (48 solo)
2 INTs
6 PDs
1 FF
Right in the Kuechly rookie year neighborhood:
165 tackles (103 solo)
1 sack
2 INTs
8 PDss

and Philly will run away with the #1 seed (best case scenario for us playing on the road).
i know they've gotten off to a good start but I think hit a skid coming up soon.
their offense is kind of overrated in my opinion.
They need to get healthy... or get Tucker up off the practice squad.

The team was 2-4 and just because we went on a 2-game winning streak you think we're going to finish the season 8-0 or 7-1? I don't think that's being objective as possible.
Looking at the rest of the schedule, there aren't any games that I would look at and say "oh, no way the Saints win that one." I'm just not sold on the idea that this team won't drop a few. Luckily, however, out of the last 3 road games, only one is against a team above .500 (Pittsburgh).
I'm pretty sure we win the NFC South though.

Which would you say is more likely: the Saints losing 2 more games or the Saints losing 4 more games?
Posted on 10/31/14 at 12:44 am to THRILLHO
I think 11-5 is entirely possible.
Posted on 10/31/14 at 12:44 am to htran90
Mosley has graded out as PFF's #1 ILB this season. As a rookie. I know that LB is the easiest position to adjust to in the NFL from college, but that's insane.

I dont think they will lose 4 more.

I truly believe that's our final record. We just need GB to go 11-5 with a better record/tiebreaker over Detroit.

The random factor is the only reason I'm giving us a possible 2 more losses. We SHOULD win out. I believe we are better coached and more talented than all of these teams(offensive play calling at times aside, though it is getting much better).
Also, I was real big on that Mosley train. By far the player I wanted most, but Cooks did become a 2nd or 3rd choice. We would have had to give up too much to get Mosley(though it may still have been worth it).

Saints are 1-4 on the road and barely beat a bad Tampa Bay team at home. I'd say there is a very good chance they lose 4 more games. 3 on the road and one at home isn't that ridiculous a notion at all. Especially playing at Pitt and at Chicago in December. San Francisco, Cincinnati, and Baltimore are all very solid teams and could be tough even at home.

Yeah, I don't even remember what a dominant ILB looks like on the Saints. Though to be fair, both Hawthorne and ESPECIALLY Lofton have had their best seasons with the Saints. With this feeling like a semi wasted season, I wish I could trade their play this season with their play last season. That would have given us a truly dominant defense last year.
