after changing the date three times, November 8, 2014 was the only date where everything (church, hall, photographer, etc.) was available. The couple was so worried about finding a date that worked, they never even had a chance to consider looking up football schedules.

Because everyone else has some god damn sense and knew that was the game. Fall weddings are just dumb.

You're dumb.

ETA: And before anyone accuse me of not thinking so, this bride's melt is ridiculous.

It really doesn't make any sense to me. If your wedding is inside, it doesn't make a shite what time of the year you schedule it.

If you are stupid enough to schedule your wedding in November don't throw a hissy fit that it falls on the Alabama game. You were stupid enough to do it, don't expect anyone to show up.... especially not without a tv.

Absolutely! The first thing a decent bride and groom should do when deciding a wedding date is to break out the LSU football schedule. My God, it's not that hard. I hope no one shows up!!

She can rant all she wants, but she shouldn't be going off on people when SHE screwed up the date. You know having a wedding on a Saturday in the fall (September - early December) has a 90% chance of falling on the day of an LSU game.

Poor planning doesn't give her reason to blast people for that.

why are you so butthurt in both threads about this? Did you or do you want to have a Fall wedding? Does it matter? Are you the bride?

I think he's the groom, and he is just now realizing how over his life is.

It can rain in Baton Rouge all it wants. TS will only have a stiff dew at best.

It's assumed no rain will make it into the stadium, I'm thinking of the tailgaters.

who is butthurt? If anything, the guys that are whining about a wedding they aren't even involved with seem more butthurt.

Had one, chose the date myself. Had many many guests as well that had a blast.

It's good to be devoted to friends.

But just for the sake of discussion…

For some folks, an LSU football game isn't "just a football game."
For these people, each is a unique experience, and the connection to that event can be deeply personal and emotional.

Perhaps you don't feel that way, and that is fine of course.

But there are those who do. And for them, a wedding might be "just a ceremony." It's not a matter of life or death. There are 365 days in the year. There is no particular reason they have to choose a Saturday in the November.

Again, you may not feel that way, but no reason to think ill of folks who do.
