When one Lafayette bride-to-be said “I do” she had no idea the date chosen for her most special day would fall on the exact same day as the LSU-Bama game.
Her wedding date was set back in early December, and after changing the date three times, November 8, 2014 was the only date where everything (church, hall, photographer, etc.) was available. The couple was so worried about finding a date that worked, they never even had a chance to consider looking up football schedules.
Invitations were sent out and all their friends seemed to be excited for their big day—until they realized the wedding fell on the same date where they LSU Tigers were set to face the SEC rival Alabama Crimson Tide. Once she sent out the Save The Dates in May, It didn’t take long for people who originally said they were attending to, all of a sudden, say they weren’t coming anymore. Others who still chose to attend once they realized the wedding was on the same day as LSU-Bama whined about it, asking if there would at least be a TV available for people to watch the game. Since the bride refused to have a TV at the reception on her big day, invitees began asking if it would be O.K. if they followed the game on their phone during the wedding. At one point, the bride-to-be had enough, taking to Facebook to vent her frustrations:

If I were her fiance I would run for the hills after that post. I mean scheduling it on LSU vs Bama day is sign 1, but going uber batshit crazy about people wanting to see the game is a tell tale sign of batshit crazy behavior for years to come.

She says "it's just a game" but fails to realize that unless you are my sister or a really good friend, it's also "just a wedding".
Given the option of "just a football game" or "just a wedding", I'll choose the game 100% of the time. If there's an open bar, change that to 90% of the time.

If you are stupid enough to schedule your wedding in November don't throw a hissy fit that it falls on the Alabama game. You were stupid enough to do it, don't expect anyone to show up.... especially not without a tv.

Dumbest part "you can dvr the game, people, but also we'll have the dj spoiling it by telling the score throughout"

My wife is in a wedding next Saturday in Monroe. Kinda frustrating, but they are our friends, so I'm not going to bitch or moan about missing a football game. That is pretty shitty. I value friends over a football game. Pretty simple.

Haha my thoughts exactly. If I am going to DVR it, I want NO access to the score so it can be all new information to me.

My girlfriend's sister is having her wedding next October. It'll be in South Carolina so a Friday wouldn't matter. If it's the 17th (Florida game) I will be livid.
ETA: then again, if it's the night before we play USCe, I might make a trip out of it...

The date of the Bama game was known at the time she set her date, so clearly she just didn't care or was too lazy to check. We already know the schedule for games next year now.
