Two outs in game 7 bro.
You bust it to 1st. The center fielder stops the ball. alright. You made it 1st a little quicker than usual.
You gotta hustle.

True
That would be a terrible ending for a world series though. Inside the park homerun on an error?

Gordon was touching third by the time the relay guy got the ball to the cut off guy pretty deep away.. But Gordon was not really running well enough.. Who knows what kind of thrown would have happened there with the pressure mounting.. It would have been so exciting

No, he should not have.

Would have been terrible. But I wanted KC to win.

If that's Cain...they send him. But Cain is at 3rd on the bobble

Me too, but the giants deserved to win. Well, at least Bumgarner did.

That would not have ended the worlds series
Instead we would have gotten a majorly dramatic ended in extras

Pretty sure Brandon Crawford got the relay? He has a good arm and is accurate as well
I thought for sure there would be a play at the plate after the bobble. Gordon isn't consiered slow, but it's been a long season. Idk. I expected him to try and score considering his athleticism

With any kind of accurate throw, game over.

He had his eyes on the outfield from the time he Left the box including after he rounded second
Should have been busting it eyes on third base coach
Still not sure if he makes it thouh

When the ball got past CF I was thinking triple... then Perez kicked it and I was really expecting a play at the plate, but Gordon is slow. Like said, he wasn't busting it out of the box or whatever, but he was getting to third about when the relay came in... if he had tried to score he would have been out by 40 feet on a good throw.
Tie game, maybe... but down by one you can't take that chance, have to hope your teammates can pick you up.

how many runs exactly do you think an inside the park homerun counts for?

He got out the box way too slow. If he's busting it the whole way, he wouldve had a good chance of scoring

Nate Silver agrees with you and Nate Silver generally knows his shite.

These decisions can be counterintuitive. Sometimes a strategy that’s successful less than 50 percent of the time — like splitting eights in blackjack — is still the right move because the alternative is even worse. In this case, the alternative involved trying to score against Bumgarner with your catcher at the plate and two outs, and then having to prevail in extra innings.

It would have made for one of the best plays in baseball history. We’re talking about the tying run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game 7 of the World Series: Even a sacrifice fly can be thrilling under those circumstances. But this would have been in a league with Bill Mazeroski and Kirk Gibson and Bill Buckner: under serious consideration for the greatest play of all-time. (The play already had a little Buckner in it, with Blanco’s and Perez’s misplays in the outfield.)
Unlike any of those moments, it would have involved an incredibly gutsy decision. It’s an extraordinary play if Gordon scores. It’s an extraordinary play if there’s a collision at home plate — and baseball needs to decide whether to invoke the “Buster Posey Rule.”
And if Gordon were thrown out, it would have been the most extraordinary way to lose a game in the history of baseball.

A little bit of me was hoping for the Buster Posey Rule to end game 7 of the World Series with Buster Posey at catcher.

you really think his odds were 2-1? Did you see how much he was laboring around 2nd?
I'd put it more at about 20-1.

This! At 2-1 it is a no-brainer. I think that if the 3rd base coach even thought there was a chance, that he would have sent Gordon. If it was Cain, he might have even sent him cause the pressure for a good throw would have been higher. With Gordon, chances are the catcher is standing with the ball waiting for Gordon and then there is a pickle situation.
