Lebron can never surpass Jordan IMO, for several reasons.
First, Lebron left Cleveland to join an all-star cast in order to win a title...and still failed in their first go 'round against an inferior ragtag bunch from Dallas.
Second, Jordan played in an era where defenders were allowed to maul players around the basket. The Jordan rules used by the Pistons would make Lebron's arse quit like a bitch, and the defenders employing it would get ejected in today's game. Jordan's points where MUCH tougher to earn game in and game out.
Finally, Jordan was just flat out tougher. Lebron, for all his skill, has a lot of bitch in him. He has gotten better at suppressing it, but it still rises up when adversity hits every now and then.
Lebron has more raw talent, but he'll never be MJ.

Eh, I think either player would have adapted to the rules of the day. LeBron would have fared far better than most give him credit for in the bad boy era with that frame of his.

this point is irrelevant for several reasons
namely, wins are a function of team

and they were inferior in every other way, both in terms of athleticism and scheme. which matters more day in, day out?

yes, he'd really be scared of this guy
lebron is bigger, faster, and a lot stronger than him

ah, the intangible argument that is purely subjective and based on the commentator's perception, and thus, irrefutable

There isn't a single drop of insecurity in Michael Jordan's whole body.
His entire career was predicated on his insecurities.
Do you know this degen flew his high school coach that cut him up to Chicago just to publicly humiliate him in front of the United Center crowd?? What kind of person does that?

Yeah it's mostly a generational thing.
Lebron's generation is generally self-absorbed. The modern athlete does have the same tough attitude and conviction like MJ's era had (see 80s Pistons). High profile basketball players today are coddled bitches from grade school onward. MJ was never Lebron status in high-school or college before he got to the NBA. Hell, he wasn't even the first pick in the NBA draft.
