new study from the well-respected and non-partisan National Bureau of Economic Research (and published by Brookings Institution), overcomes the limitations of these prior studies by examining what happened to premiums in the entire non-group market. The bottom line? In 2014, premiums in the non-group market grew by 24.4% compared to what they would have been without Obamacare.
'Le boume.

Wasn't Colorado running around touting the fact that their state plans caused premiums to go down?
No wonder the democrats in that state are about to be cleaned out

Does this include how Obamacare pushed out some affordable plans altogether?
A few years ago, I could have had my family on my graduate student insurance for a really affordable rate. Not so anymore. They even said over the phone that it was because of the AHA that they raised their rates so high.

quote:About 20 million or roughly 5% of the non-elderly insured. So it's not that big, but can't blow it off either. Really need to see group rate costs.

Good question. I would guess so, but who knows.

In the poll posted last week, people said overwhelmingly that their group or employer furnished ins had greatly increased as well.

Alabama's is right on par with what mine actually was. About a 58% increase. Hope the rest of the hope and change crowd joins me this yr. And that it hurts. Very badly.
