Indigenous peoples. Sorry on phone.

What were the indigenous doing before the white man came? Do you think they were nice, tolerant, and peaceful toward one another?

Christians have done a lot of terrible things, but the theme that keeps re-emerging is "civilizing" people. They want to conquer your land, teach you about Jesus and how to read and write so you can be awesome like them. That's basically how the Pope justified it for thousands of years.
Now in a modern sense, that's certainly condescending, oppressive, ethnocentric, racist, imperialist, whatever. All true. But the point is Christianity has never really lent itself to wholesale slaughter (very few exceptions) It doesn't make sense in Christianity.
However, if you are an atheist liberal member of the Intelligentsia, and you know what's best for society, then it's a lot easier to just kill them all and be done with it. Social engineering from atheist social Darwinists is the danger we face. That is what gets EVERYONE killed. And we see it time and time again.
But by all means, let's denigrate white American Christians for being human like everyone else on the globe throughout history, and also building the greatest civilizations. And then, deciding to be better THAN EVERYONE ELSE ON THE GLOBE and stop the madness and invite those oppressed people to live freely in their great civilizations. What a bunch of fricking assholes.

And you just took the counter-crazy position from Burt. That's an absurd view of history.

You can bring up Cromwell and Columbus if you like. I contend they are exceptions.

Still didnt kill half as many people as the christian colonization of the americas. In fact, nothing has.
Odder still that the relation intimates a definitively Christian founding of the country.
Certainly an accidental side track in Burt Reynolds' case.
Funny nonetheless.

Indigenous people killing indigenous people is natural, normal and an expression of the culture. But when white folk doin the killing. Then it's racist.

How is that relevant to their imminent death and enslavement?
My point was that Christians have killed alot of people colonizing not only the Americas but also Asia and Africa (as volstakestheshaft pointed out). I just think its kindof pathetic how many of the sec bred posters on this board vehemently defend christianity and judaism while attacking islam at the aame time. Its just convenient because its analagous with this boards sheltered southern mindset. You know me, just playing devils advocate

The defense of modern Christianity versus modern Islam in re: mass killings is they're not doing it right Fricking now. That probably escapes you.

Wait a minute. I've been telling you these things since forever, but now since some melanin-deprived posters hopped on the bandwagon, now you realize its time for some honest reflection?
You can't even apologize right.

He is referring to the Americas....the Spaniards and Portugese did have a strong Catholic bent to their conquest.

Do we see it time and time agian outside of the 20th century communist dictators?
Funny how the only argument that this board really has against atheists is the commie dictators. Thats poli boards go to strawman.

Not defending the Crusades, but you do understand what happened during the 400 years preceeding them, right?
