Looks like codeine is schedule II now
And don't those have to be on triplicate?

Go blow the pharmacist and he'll hook her up

Codeine is schedule 2 now? WTF?
these lawmakers just don't get it, and when more and more white kids are doing Heroin they will wonder why.

95% of the younger people I was in rehab with were addicted to pain killers

Looks like a legit paper prescription. Sig looks good, dosage is max but ok. Texas DPS number on script.
Problems:
No refills allowed on Schedule II narcotics
No DEA number on script, required for all scheduled drug prescriptions (unless law is different in Texas)
The '#30' should also be spelled and written out as '(thirty)' but not sure if that's a deal breaker
The prescriber doesn't indicate which one he/she is (by circling their preprinted name or writing their name out) and you sure can't tell by the signature
Codeine 30 mg is probably not something most pharmacies have around - there are much more popular and safer alternatives to the antiquated codeine for chronic pain management (continuous release morphine or oxycodone, fentanyl patches, etc)
That's all I got

Why didn't the pharmacist call the prescribing doctor?
It's a schedule 2 drug. One has to have a state ID that the scrip is wrote to, to have it filled. Don't have that, it's not going to be filled.

she put refills on it.
That's a no no. Sch 2 has to be scriped every 30 days.

You say "when" like that's not already happening. Heroin usage and overdoses have skyrocketed in the last few years. And its all because of the crackdown on the safer alternatives.... Prescription opiates.

I'm not understanding why this is a schedule 2 drug. I asked my best friend, who is a pharmacist here in SC, and she said it is still schedule 3. That's not possible. It would be the same schedule everywhere. Evidently she was wrong, I guess.

The prescription is not valid. Codeine cannot be refilled, so has to be forged or the physician made a mistake. Either way, the script cannot be filled as written

yep. drugs.com has codeine listed as schedule 2

She's probably thinking of a codeine combination medication because that is what is most frequently used. They aren't necessarily schedule 2.

Is codeine 30mg a valid prescription?

Not many pharmacies are going to have just codeine, though. Its a strange prescription. I'd call the physician to confirm and even may still not fill it depending on the location of the doc and location of the pharmacy.

Yeah I told her the refills was probably a problem
And she may need to try a specialty or compounding pharmacy
