OT Teachers...why is it a damn standard that you send home so much damn homework

to the point the child is up past 10pm trying to get everything done.
There is no damn reason a 4th grader should have assignments in every damn subject every single night. My poor daughter is exhausted. I don't remember doing this much when I was her age.
Who designs these damn lesson plans??? Shouldn't quality superseed quantity?

And what time does she start her homework?

I completely agree. I don't remember bringing homework home a single day before high school. I figure I turned out alright. Now we have to fight with the 1st grade homework that is sent home every night.

More homework = less time to bang teachers. It's a safety net.

When you are brainwashing kids to be a bunch of liberals when they grow up, you've got to really drive it home.

5:30 - 6:00 or so most nights.

In college you are an "adult", so it's reasonable that you don't ever have homework and may only have 2 grades the whole semester. It's on you to learn the material. In 4th grade, they give homework to see if you're comprehending what is being taught.

Why so late? I remember having homework every night at that age....but my parents made that be the first thing we did when we got home. You wanted to go play with friends or watch tv....do your homework first.

that seems like an incredibly dumb reason
they can't tell by classwork?

I understand the reason, but doesn't it have to be every subject every single night though??

Idk, I'm not a teacher. I was trying to give a reason for what he asked.

Talk to the teacher. Maybe they shouldn't be taking so long to complete. She may be struggling with the material.

4 hours of homework every night is way too much.

More homework in his youth could have helped with this.

Well, for she doesn't get home until about 4:30-4:45 and she's usually so damn tired when she gets home from school we give her some downtime to take a nap before we start on her homework for the night. She hardly ever gets an opportunity to go outside and play.

Where is she going between leaving school and home? She can't do some of her homework there?

went through the same shite with my daughter the last two years. It was fricking insane. This year she's in the 5th grade and something has changed with her homework load.
Huge weight off of all of our shoulders.
