Trail Knife Recommendations

I'm looking for a knife for clearing some light brush and what not while hiking. I'm thinking about an 8 - 10 inch blade, formed handle (not just straight to help keep it from slipping out of my hand as the wife and kid will be present), 3/16 blade or thicker, decent warrantee (as it'll get beat on pretty good).
I was looking at the Esee Junglas or one of the Ka-Bar Bowies. My budget is about $200 or less.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

RTAK-II is cheaper than the Junglas for practically the same knife. To be honest, I'd get an Ontario 12" machete for $30. Do a lot better for clearing light brush and more abuse tolerant.

$10 at your local pawn shop. Easy sharpening. Drill a hole in the handle for a lanyard

Machete (20+") is my go to for clearing. The shorter knifes are between a hatchet and a machete.

Somebody gave me a Bear Grylls parang or something. About 10". Light enough to carry easily.
Not as good as a full machete or cane knife but for hiking camping not bad. Also can split small kindling with it. It's fairly tough.

I have one of those Gerber/Fiskars machetes that has held up well. It has a saw on the back of the blade that sucks as a saw, but is good for yanking brush and vines.
A 12" Gerber/Fiskars hatchet also came with it that is in really good shape still
