My old company got purchased by a larger company and I was part of the fat. I am really thinking about changing career fields. Has anybody had any luck changing careers? I live in Houston and really thinking about trying to get in the Oil & Gas Industry. My current
background is financial underwriting (surety bonds). Anybody have any advice? (I am 34 single & veteran)

Have you seen the price of oil lately?
But I hope it works out for you

have you considered the new orleans culture industry

Sorry to hear that bro.
O&G is always a good career path. I would think some of your finance skills could transition into a corp. finance job in one of the big companies.

I have no good advice for you, but Houston should have tons of jobs available. Best of luck.

You mean he should become a welfare queen and start pumping out little culture factories on the taxpayer dime?

Are you service connected? If so you can get a federal job pretty easy.

I know Sean Hannity has a program with lots of companies to hire veterans. Do some googling and it might work out for you. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Good luck.
