My friend is a millenial, I thought he was above that

A good friend of mine has now proven to me that he has the millenial mindset.
He graduated from A&M with a BS in IT last year. I highly advised him at the time to change his major as IT wasn't a good fit for him. He didn't take the advice and finished with a respectable degree. He also thought he was going to make $80k+ his first year out of college. A&M actually had his class believing that.
He worked an internship doing basic desktop support his final semester. He actually called me up asking my thoughts on A+ certification. He wanted to take the test, but couldn't pass it. I was in shock that A&M is actually handing out BS degrees to kids who can't even pass the A+ cert and having them believe they are going to make $80k, but that's a different topic.
SO he graduates, finishes his internship, and gets a full time position with the same company. As any friend would, I congratulate him and wish him the best. Well, within 2 months he calls me up. He hates his job because IT isn't a good fit for him. He can't relate with anyone in the office. IT professionals are just flat out different from people like he and I, exactly what I told him a few years prior. I went thought the exact same scenario.
He quits with no backup plan. Has accumulated some significant debt and is getting married later this year. His fiance is an Ultrasound Tech, so she makes in the range of $60k I'd guess.
After a few weeks, he scores a job at the local Toyota dealership doing something like insurance writing. 2 weeks in, he calls me and tells me he's quitting.
The hours are too long, 11 a day and 5 days a week. He gets butthurt because I welcomed him to the real world and told him to stop being such a pussy. He quit the next day.
So here he is now, doing nothing, and no plans to do anything. His soon to be wife told him that she doesn't want him to work anymore than part time and he doesn't need to work.
She also wants to buy a house early next year. This poor girl must be retarded to think that they can buy a house on her salary and the debt they have accumulated. 2 nice vehicles in the last year, a brand new RZR, and who knows what else.
I've never really cared about the millenial thing. However, this is a good friend of mine and I thought a lot more of him than that. I've offered as much advice as a friend can and they don't listen to it, so I'm done there. I just don't want to see them screw themselves which seems certain at some point.

At least he doesn't have Ebola. How long until you're symptomatic?

don't think that's a millenial thing

Holy schnikies, if this is all true, than your friend is worthless. What the hell does he do all day?
I hope he knows that this is because she wants to control the relationship (and him). Nothing gives a woman more leverage than being the sole breadwinner.

You would just quit, without having any sort of backup plan or job lined up?

Your friend sounds fricking stupid.
He should have focused on IS over IT.

Sounds like your friend is a lazy pussy. Nothing to do with when he was born.
Posted on 10/15/14 at 3:57 pm to Austin Cajun
that has nothing to do with being a millenial and everything to do with being a stupid frick.
