The whole any single woman in her 30's must be crazy thing, while cliché, is probably around 80% accurate from my first hand experiences.

Most of my friends who are still single, are single for clear reasons, and it is not because they are just "unlucky in love". The issue is none of them think this.

it's absolutely accurate. it's a self-perception crisis (is my value really that low?) mixed in with evolutionary-based competition (is my value really lower than her?), mixed in with evolutionary-based biological needs (my value is based in having children, and in a few years i won't be able to have any, which makes me worthless)

A lot of professional chicks in this category. I respect that they waited to settle down in order to work on their career. The flip side of that is that they don't need a guy like some other women, which often results in bailing on relationships pretty quickly when things get tough. I also think a lot of them have delusions about finding that "tall but modest, handsome but with lovable flaws, rich but humble, understanding yet opinionated, honest yet with a bit of sleaze, upstanding yet having a bit of naughty boy in him, stable yet adventurous..."
