I bought one back in 1999. It was cheaper to buy from a store in London (Scotia?), have it shipped across the Atlantic, and pay duty than it was to buy it from Orvis in Dallas.
As said, it is great if in England or other cold climate. I have worn it to freezing arse Mardis Gars parades, but don't wear it often around here.

That site looks sketchy, but who knows.
End is legit. I've ordered a few items from them and they shipped from UK to GA in like 4 days for 11.95

Great jacket.
bought mine off of orvis. Not bad at all.
I have the quilted one. Liddesdale??? It's my favorite jacket.
But, a heads up. Try the orvis brand waxed jacket which I also own. There is very little difference between that one and the barbour one.

What is so special about them? I hear women talking about them a lot and how they like them on guys but I would never know if someone was wearing one.
Comfortable as hell. Seriously. I could sleep in my quilted one. It's weird. It's not ever hot, but you never get cold. It's also very thin.

I've had mine for years. It's not one of the heavy ones. I'm not sure which model it is. It looks and feels just like a light jacket, but is much warmer and totally water proof and much better looking than any other waterproof jacket I've seen. It's totally appropriate for the weather down here. And it's tough enough to wear through briar patches. If I only had one jacket, this would be it.
A friend of mine bought one of the thicker ones when she lived in Whales. She wore it twice last year. That said, I still want one.
Edit: I got mine at Orvis because I wanted to try it on. But it was worth every penny.

Where do you take it to get it rewaxed?

I think you have what I have . . . Liddesdale.

I did mine myself, there wasn't anything to it. But next time I'll probably send it back to them if I think about it in the summer. There's an address on the website with an order form.

I believe Barbour has a service center on the east coast, NH or CT....

What are some cool models. I like the style of jackets posted and need a casual brown one to wear when I'm not at work (I have a wolverine work jacket that fills that niche). Are there any other normal retailers other than Orvis around here?

I mean, I know we're not as warm as LA, but the Atlanta area was sub 15 on multiple days this winter and hit single digits on a couple of occasions. I have plenty of use for my Barbour, and it's a heavier jacket.

It gets cold as hell here in NE FL from about Thanksgiving until May. Of course there are warmer days, too, but it's often in the 30's or low 40's at night. Sometimes it doesn't get out of the 40's during the day for a week at a time. That's cold.

Does anyone know if this site is legit?
knock offs?
I found a similar site for Belstaff with equally, if not more so, too good to be true deals. And google said they're Chinese knock offs. But nothing turned up on this site.

Yeah, the way they list the stock is exactly the same as the Belstaff knockoffs. Thanks!

The Beaufort is THE classic Barbour for a man to wear. Excellent design and craftsmanship.
