State and Auburn are the best they have been in a while, program wise. We are rebuilding at a rough time, but nothing is fricked here. Positigahs gonna hold it down

Certainly Im all in and this weekend is a very winnable game and will be pulling with all my might but if we get spanked again, its not going to be the Negamiles hollering it will be the sunshine pumpers trying to spin away another loss against Florida. Look I will take the sunshine pumping of losses to the best teams in the SEC, i.e. Auburn and MSU but please as a PosiMiles don't come in here and spin a loss to Florida as you did against Auburn and MSU. Will the Posi Miles fans agree to this and we will meet in the middle.

i don't think negatigers are the ones leaving early. they're staying late for the lulz
they were the ones who were scared we'd pull out a bullshite W against MSU

it can't hurt. it might help.
this actually relates to the almost bullshite W we got against MSU. both do no good
with all of the bullshite les has pulled out of his arse over the years, it's difficult to not point out the continuing flaws when he doesn't get lucky. we're talking about almost a decade of the same issues. the issues just happen to be coming home to roost today

This forum is full of delusional people that think they actually matter in respect to what transpires with LSU football to the point of comedic reaction. See---->
I do not consider myself a sunshine pumper nor a negatiger, and have an attention span beyond that of a gnat...the TL;DR mentally lazy unaccountable asshats of the forum are typically the ones....never mind, TL.

I'm getting tired of the constant barrage of shite on the Rant, but this post is not one of those.
I'm with you, frustrated with Miles and coaching/playcalling, most especially the 3rd and long runs and complete lack of creativity on offense.
But I also keep remembering how we all knew we had a young team in the spring/summer and I guess the anticipation led to expectations rising until by game 2 or 3 we had many fans talking about winning the NC!?!
Of course Miles and Co, most notably Chavis, don't make it any easier on themselves or the team with their inane playcalling and schemes and apparent lack of preparation.
But when the negativity gets so bad, I wonder about the possible future effects on the players and recruiting. Most athletes know you have ups and downs in sports, but seeing a venomous and unforgiving fanbase is probably something new to them.

here's what i already said to someone who pretty much said the same. and if im mistaken about anything, by all means point it out to me, tough guy. or just post more emoticons. that's very clever too.
i said "in some way." and in some way, (the rant does matter). we all know other people read this. "honey badger" came from here and went national in a week. the family of recruits like Rueben and Lache and Dylan have been active members here, they know what the "fans" think about the program and how its run.
im not delusional, im not pretending we dictate some conversation, but we're not in some sound proof booth either.

Oh, bes believe the Rant has real power.

we're all LSU fans, can we put the animosity behind us for a month and just say frick it, say hold my beer and then run blindly into a wall like the idiot fans we are.
No, because I'm a way worse fan than I was before Miles came here and sucked the joy out of it. I realize that's not necessarily his fault as much as it is mine, but there's no denying that this team has not been very fun to watch for the most part during his tenure.
quote:
you maybe just ratchet things down for a month. bite your tongue if you can. give this team a chance to get better, to improve, to fight, before you pass judgement.
What does "getting better" mean for this team? They fight to a 4-4 conference record? That would put Miles's 10 year SEC winning percentage at 70%, the same as Saban's 5 year SEC winning percentage despite Saban taking over for Dinardo after a winless SEC season.
In itself, that wouldn't be so bad (though I don't think it is up to the expectations we had for this program in 2004), but most of us are just tired of watching Les's brand of football. If he was constantly at the top of the conference, one could be expected to live with that, but why should we want to live with it when he's not competing for championships? When it's always "wait until next year."
I'm with SFP. I don't want LSU to lose games, but I also don't want to watch them fluke their way to wins they don't deserve that will enable Choctaw (as representative of a certain mindset) to crow about a W-L record that doesn't tell the whole story.

Nice post. Some disagreements with you, which I’ll list below, but at least it is rational and invites a discussion.
That said, steel sharpens steel. Legitimate criticism of a coach – never players – is not only appropriate, but healthy. It’s part of the checks and balance system (much like the media supposedly is a check to the govt.). The heat from the fan base ultimately trickles to the admin, who then applies the heat to the coach. While I’m sure the admin reaches the same point independent of the fan base, to say that a fan base (or Rantard) does not influence the program is, well, wrong.
Personally, I subscribe to the school of frank, direct discussion. If someone is not living up to expectations, then you address it head-on, you don’t bite your lip or sweep it under the rug. Silence serves no purpose and only promotes festering problems. It’s actually very Pavlovian. You reward good behavior and punish bad.

If I wanted this to be a part of my football team's repartee, then, I would be a Tulane fan.
The quoted phrases are exactly what Tulane fans say to each other daily for the past 50 years.

So you disagree and don't want to see the team fight, improve and get better?
