I do 2-4 day fly fishing trips by myself pretty often. Usually find somewhere to camp Ina remote areA where I'm unlikely to encounter many people. Wife doesn't fish so it's usually just me.

My dad and I are thinking about going hiking in Zion and Bryce Canyon over thanksgiving. If he decides not to go, there is a good chance I do it by myself anyway.

BUMP
Just curious what other ideas are out there...I saw a thread from CT a year ago talking about this and I am wondering if he went and where'd you go?

Hit up Mammoth Bike Park and Yosemite by myself for 4 days this summer. Hitting up something like a bike park is really easy by yourself.
I've also flew into Denver the past two years on solo vacations. Thanksgiving, Thursday through Tuesday. Spend the first night and last night around the city. The rest of the time head out into the little mountain towns and hike, ski, eat, drink, etc.
While it would be fun with friends it is also nice to just do whatever you want on your own time.

I guess so. I'd go on hikes and camping trips solo to places out west.

Get Tinder on your phone and set up a good profile before traveling. Check it often at your destination.

I've done several solo vacations - I highly recommend it, as long as you're independent and able to perceive dangers etc.
When you're tired of a location/sight to see just move on.
Steer clear of areas that are very couples/group oriented like nude beaches, Paris and vineyards.
Do sample the night life.

If I were to do it I'd head to the Caribbean, drink myself into a rum stupor and get my tan on on the beach.
