If he looked you right in the eyes and said hie name was John Doe and he lived at 123 Sesame Street there is no way that cop takes him at his word.

Well that might be a good point, though it wasn't what I was responding to.

So, is it Ohio law that, as a passenger, you must identify yourself to a police officer in a stop?

So you would let the NAZIs take you from your family because they told you to.

OK, Got it.

I'll continue to go about my life being respectful to law officers, and i will teach my kids to do the same. Nothing positive will ever come from arguing or being disrespectful to someone who thinks they have power and a gun.

You guys can continue to act as if every cop is out to get you and infringing on your rights with everything they do and say and you'll end of in stupid situations like this or worse.
I'll continue to drive away from my traffic stops with little to no problem

I ask again. Why does the officer object to being recorded if he had nothing to hide? You're saying the detainee should have given up his rights and done whatever the cop asked because he hadn't done anything wrong. Why does that only apply to the victim of police and not the police themselves?

No, but he would let a police officer. It would be disrespectful not to.

proof of what? the cop was a dipshit? Ok

Doesn't change the fact that this guy made things worse instead of easier.

Looks to me like he just picked the wrong day to be black.

Plenty of officers are recorded every day with no incidents and play by the rules.

If corruption were as huge an issue as people claim we would see a lot more of these videos.

You're part of the problem. Police use these tactics because of people like you.

You need me to stand up to police to protect yourself, you just might not admit it.

we provided proof that the police officer was doing something illegal and the passenger was not.
Is there really anything more to add to this?

So just give in to the beating is what you recommend.

Nope.

I'm not one to encourage lawsuits, but this department needs a wake-up call after reading the chief's comments. I hope he strings them up high.

No, I am not wrong. How the frick can you be required to show identification when you're not required to carry it?

I'm not real sure but I saw two legal citations showing you have to show Id and one saying you have to identify your name, age, and address. Seems to be a lot of ambiguity in what the cops can and can't request as far as identification goes.

You seem very adamant with no backup... I still think you're wrong. This has to have been before the supreme courts. Cops have been doing it forever.

The officer is in the wrong. Although the driver and passenger weren't exactly cordial, that's not an excuse for the officer to act the way he did.

If you are suspected of a crime. The passenger was never suspected of wrong doing except being black and looking like a fugitive because all black people look the same.

hilarious.
comparing our cops to Nazi's.

keep watching world star hip hop and thinking our gov't is evil. Sounds like a fun way to live.

If you want you can send over some sort of patch for me to wear so i can be identified to be sent to my concentration camp when the time arrives.
