That list isn't remotely accurate. I've seen 2 guys called up from the minors since that list was published hitting 100 regularly.

I think if ventura really rared back and put all he had in it he could hit 103-105

You mean like touching it every now and then in games or capable of it? Only a handful of guys who consistently touch it throughout the season- probably 10-15 if I had to guess. I bet a lot of the guys who sit 93-96 could touch it if they really got after it though.

Velocity can be overrated. Flat, elevated 100 MPH fastballs will get crushed in the league if you don't have anything to offset it with. Plenty of flame throwers have been lit up in their careers

Jared Weaver and that 68MPH changeup is harder to hit than a 100MPH fastball coming straight down the pike. You can't hit that fricking change up when you are expecting a 90 MPH fastball

there are maybe 3 or 4 who can consistently do it. Most are relievers. Chapman, Rosenthal, Herrera. Betances maybe.

Maybe 1 or 2 starters. Ventura, and i cant even think of another one.

even a guy like Garrett Richards, he had the highest average FB velocity in the MLB for a starter, and still isnt a guy that touches 100.

Giles was up before that date actually.

I was thinking of him & Hunter Strickland, who have both touched 100+ numerous times when I happen to be watching.

Does Kimbrel not touch triple digits a time or two an outing? It wouldn't surprise me if it was less than I said. Ventura is the only starter I've seen touching it that I've watched this year. The amount of velocity Chapman generates in comparison to everyone else is freakish though

Kimbrel can, but he generally stays around 98-99. not much difference, but still. I remember last postseason he was throwing 101

Chapman averaged over 100 mph on his FB this year. He's picked up decent velocity since entering the league.

Wily Peralta hit 99.2 MPH this year.
Nate Eovaldi hit 100.4 MPH.
Chris Archer hit 98.2 MPH.
Mike Foltynewicz hit 100.2 MPH.
Wade Davis hit 99 MPH.
Greg Holland hit 99.1 MPH.
Andrew Cashner hit 98.4 MPH.

Don't really feel like looking up any more. These are just guys that hadn't been mentioned yet that I know would be close or over 100 MPH.

Yep.

Kyle Farnsworth for the Yanks would routinely get lit up because his 100mph fastball didn't move at all.
