Ok tard, Ebola is going to kill tens of thousands in the US!
But if you contact someone infected, it may well kill you.
FYI, the people "locked up" are assumed to be possibly infected, though not yet infectious. Your preference would be that they roam about until they infect someone?

I say they are people with low IQs that are easily manipulated, they are even worse than people who obsess over ISIS. Upvote if you agree!
Our hospital sent out mass emails on it. Are they all kooks with low IQs?

People who are worried about Ebola are kooks, true or false?
Mostly true.
Its a pretty fricking serious disease.
I don't think people understand there are exacerbating factors in Liberia making it much worse than it will be here.

Some people may be worried because they can be easily manipulated and lack the ability to think critically. Others may be worried because they have generalized anxiety, phobias, and OCD (among other anxiety-based conditions). Others may be worried because they are actually at-risk (paramedics, doctors, those that may have had contact). So while many may have cognitive deficits, others have different reasons altogether but don't have cognitive deficits. It's usually problematic to generalize like this.

I think the fact that only a few thousand have contracted it (even assuming non reported cases) in a hell hole like Western Africa should make people relax a bit. Substitute something like Spanish flu of 1919 and millions would already be infected. 10 months producing that few cases in Africa people should realize his disease can be contained in the us, although it is serious for those infected.

You've also got to realize that all these alarmist scientists lose their grant money if they say Ebola maybe isn't so catastrophic. That's how the game is played.

Just worried of being the next hospital to send someone with Ebola home with a false diagnosis.

This is exactly what many of say about climate change. There is a problem, but there is an incentive to make it more catastrophic than is probable.

Well if there is any justice....you will be killed by one or the other.

Well if you are in Liberia or you just found out your neighbor that you had over for a picnic the day before has it then no, you aren't a kook. You are also probably getting real religious right about now calling in favors from the Big Guy in the Sky. Other then that I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
Your chances of contracting and dying from Ebola are low here in the states. As in killed by lightning while being molested by a grizzly bear that is being eaten by a shark low. Play the lotto instead, you have better odds. In that regard the panicking news media and government response is actually doing a public good.
When an outbreak of Oh My Fricking Jesus Kill It With Fire happens in a foreign country I want the media to wet itself to keep Americans from going over there, contracting it, and then bringing it back over here. I also want the government to spend a little bit of money and time sending over supplies and whatnot to make sure that whatever horrible disease is over there stays over there and doesn't decide to go on a world tour.

People who watch the news and freak out over anything spouted on there are the types who either end up in trains or else coralling people into them.
