The Rev. Al Sharpton said his civil rights organization, the National Action Network, is "engaged in immediate conversations" with the White House as they work to name a successor to Attorney General Eric Holder, who is set to announce his resignation Thursday afternoon. "We are engaged in immediate conversations with the White House on deliberations over a successor whom we hope will continue in the general direction of Attorney General Holder," Sharpton said in a statement.

How about finding someone who will do their job by UPHOLDING THE frickING LAW?

Holder's had enough scandals that you'd think that the Senate would hold any future AG nominee's feet to the fire to prevent a repeat of this clusterfrick.

Of course, you'd be wrong, but it's at least something to shoot for.

They've got to make sure the next AG follows through on the persecution of the Ferguson PD.

Oh good, we can all be confident that a totally independent, non-partisan voice will emerge as the next Atty General. And of course, that race will not even be a hint of a factor in choosing.

Sharpton saying it and it happening are two totally different things. I'd hope that inside the White House, they are laughing at this.

Sharpton has a penchant for overestimating his importance.

How a man that backed Tawana Brawley and all the baggage that came with it including the 6 figure tax evasion charges can be taken serious by anyone is beyond reason.

Al Sharpton
This man is a proven liar, incompetent, and illiterate.
How many times (recently) have we heard how no one views Sharpton as a leader in the black community? That his opinions carry no weight? "Who cares about what Al Sharpton says anyway?!?!"

It makes perfect sense that he would be in on naming the next attorney general for the United States.
