what the hell is wrong with people that they can't see how dangerous this is?

1 cop gets killed and they're going to lock down an entire county, run around in helicopters and armored vehicles wearing camo and army helmets? Truly world gone mad. Cops really have come to see themselves as an occupying army. There is no possible justification for keeping people out of their homes, this is just another example of what happens when local cops start using military gear and clothes, they play army.

absolutely no perspective. cops mentality has changed from policing to occupying military force in a war on drugs, terror, and an enemy local populace that just gets in the way of their little war games.

What would you have them do?

The area is mostly rural, so they are locking down a couple of reserves. A few people have houses right in the middle of everything so the houses are on lock down as well.

From what I understand police have already opened up most of the roads. LINK

Cops are such wimps, they really are. They overreact to everything and never fail to escalate the tension.

You need a little better perspective on what's going on up there and quit being a whiney pussy.

Boy, looks like a repeat of Boston

I'd be interested in knowing if they are forcing themselves into peoples homes without warrants?

The massive search for 31-year-old Eric Frein, who is charged with killing one trooper and wounding another, has resulted in frequent unannounced and indefinite roadblocks in the village of Canadensis. Some people have ended up sleeping in their cars because their neighborhoods were cordoned off.

In a statement Tuesday night, police said they have been "diligent in respecting the rights of the public while working hard to keep both residents and law enforcement personnel safe."

btw, all the accounts that I have read state that this guy is in the woods, as he is a survivalist.

"At no time did we completely restrict access to homes in the area," said Trooper Adam Reed, in a prepared statement released to the media. "If a resident required access to their home for a vital reason, such as retrieving medication, we provided an escort to their home to ensure their safety."
So, if you were in your home you couldn't leave. If you were outside of your home, you couldn't enter. If you had some """""vital need""""" you could get escorted in, but then they wouldn't let you stay. Ridiculous!
