Ran across a seemingly good deal on a G3, its the one on the right in this LINK
Its a 2012' with a 70 Yamaha on it. Sets on a galvanized trailer and is equipped with a 55# hand control MinnKota. Ill mostly use it to to marsh fish and pull the kids (2 ages 9-10) on a tube. Feller started at $13900 and is down to $11900. Whats the OBs thoughts?

Sounds like an ok deal if everything checks out. G3 are in the middle of the line for aluminum boats. Nothing wrong with them outside of being mass produced and machine welded.

Saving up for a used 1756 cc, I like them.

We use G3's (1860's) as small work boats at my office. They hold up very well, despite levels of abuse that never cease to amaze me (and never cease the guys at the shop who maintain our boats and motors).

We had a 2010 1756 DLX CC, ended up selling it to my uncle. He uses it 3 to 4 times a week and just repowered it from the original 70hp 2 stroke we had on it. He rags the crap out of it and it's held up well. I always enjoyed fishing out of it. Good boats.
ETA: Not a 2010...sorry. Forgot we bought that thing when I was in high school. Think it may have been a 2006 or 2007 model year.

Thoughts on G3 Boats
All I remember about a buddies 1860 was all the rivets popping out of the floor.

I have a '01 17.5' with a 75 on it. You will want to upgrade the TM, mine was stock with a 50# and the wind would kick my arse. Great boat, had it since '06, have pulled grown men on knee boards with no problems. Mine runs 45 with a full load, hit 50 when I changed the setup but lost too much on the holeshot.
Talked to a buddy that has a welding shop and he mainly deals with boats, said G3 welded boats rarely make it in his shop, just build better he said.
I run mine hard, high winds, stumpy lakes, rocks, etc, never had to take it in for structural issues.
