In the first scene, the word "hurricane" came up; and I feel like there was no context for it.

Like the writers just wanted to shoe horn that word in there.

they were talking about the drink... not the storm

she said something about eating a gourmet meal w/ a hurricane

But will it threaten to shut down Mardi Gras or a Saints game?

you'll just have to watch and see

Much better show. The writers do a great job with the interplay among the characters.

Yep

I don't mind NCIS:L.A either but this looks dumb imo

Ncis's are usually more story driven. They are trying to make this location driven. That's the weakness.

Interesting location should a good support detail, not be it.

i really wanted to like this show. Why isn't it possible to have a show based in nola without the terrible fake accents? Aside from the chick who is supposed to be from another state, the cast really sucks. I like the sights they show of the area and of course you have to show the quarter, the music and the food. But this show is just bad. I went in with low expectations and i'm still disappointed.

We should do a Movie/TV Board Louisiana cliche bingo game next week.

My parents will watch every single one. They are 65. Also Blue Bloods.

Me too. It was bad in a good way, and I like the guy that played the lead. I'm looking forward to seeing if "Blackish" is any good. From the previews, it looks like it could go either way at this point.

why are there so many csi and ncis spinoffs? are those shows really that popular? I've watched a couple of episodes of each and they weren't that good imho

the way they spin shows off of stuff like NCIS and CSI reminds me of how Activision slaps the Call of Duty name on every single FPS they make even thought they really aren't connected story wise.

I don't know why, but I laughed out loud when the black guy ordered a diet orange.

I have a totally irrational hate for Scott Bakula. For some reason just looking at him makes me want to kick puppies. I'm sure I could come up with better reasons for not watching it, but I'll go with that one.

Because NCIS (and CBS shows in general) is like catnip for old people. They can't get enough of that shite.
