Anyone else pick up on that?
This isn't a direct quote, but it's as close as I can remember.
"We are going to try to expedite our efforts to arm the Syrian rebels, as they are in the best position to bring down ISIL and the Assad regime."

The enemy of my enemy is my enemy.
More money for the war profiteers

Ok, this is in no way on the same level and I'm not trying to compare the two apples to apples, but didn't Bush get blasted for taking on Iraq at the same time as Afghanistan? As in, taking on too many goals instead of concentrating on one and then the other

I used to wonder why your avatar was upside down.
I don't anymore.

Anyone who thinks they gave up on getting Assad out after the failed attempts last year is a fool.
Perfect cover to get him out.

quote:So who the frick are we actually arming? All anyone ever says is "moderates." Spoiler alert: They don't exist. Obama might as well say he's arming the 37th Unicorn Brigade. Is he talking about the SRF, which just signed a ceasefire with ISIS in Damascus? The FSA, which just had its leadership sacked? The Kurds, who are awesome but limited to Hasakah and Kobane?

If anything, this makes it clear that we
A. Have no long term plan.
B. Have no exit strategy.
C. Are a destabilizing force, not a stabilizing force, in the Middle East
D. Will end up making more enemies than we destroy and alienating more current and potential allies than we gain.

He said that during his prime time address a week or two ago.
1.can we believe anything he says?
2. It's wise and dumb at the say time. It recognizes our true situation, that everyone there is an enemy but at the same time how are we going to defeat both Adsad and ISIS without either ground troops or tbe stomach to tolerate a lot of noncombatent muslim deaths.

The continued targeting of Assad was really my only beef with the last speech he made a couple weeks ago. I don't understand why he is trying to oust his only real ally in this whole situation. I guess Assad made him look bad so he's got some kind of score to settle with him.
When will we learn that sometimes the world needs evil people to keep things in balance (especially in the ME)?

So he is using ISIS as the excuse to bomb Syria in order to remove Assad? Right out of the Bush playbook

what could go wrong?

My god, has this administration learned nothing what happens when you remove a dictator in the Mideast? Just who the frick is going to run Syria if they get assad? They're doing the same shite they criticized bush by going after Assad.
