Actually a lot of the good economy here in Texas is due to the efforts of Rick Perry.

And would do again in about 3 hours. First of all if they think the border is a problem now...wait until there ain't nothing but the Texas National Guard and a fledgling Texas economy holding off the invasion of the Brown people. They would be speaking Spanish and going to Mass as a mandate in less than a year without the United States backing them.
Of course someone is going to point out that the Texas economy is not fledgling but is indeed booming. This is true now but as soon as Texas starts printing money the world will be in a mad rush to drive the nation to its knees with all sorts of predatory lending that Texas would have to put up with until the fiscal managememnt of the new nation was proven, probably 20 - 30 years.
