Baseball in the playoffs went 0-2 at the plate

played good defensively though and my shoulder was shot at that point in the season so it wasn't the worst thing in the world to finally rest it. Took a couple of months to feel normal again.

last football game watched from the sidelines as our offense tried unsuccessfully tried to mount a comeback in the 4-A state quarterfinals, last basketball game got eliminated from state playoffs in a close game, had 21 points, last swing of HS baseball I sent a ball over the right cf fence, lost the game, walked on at LSU, knew I was out of place, but when I walked away from that last practice field knowing it was all over was a tough day, gf and I got a cooler of beer and went and drank it on the levee, good times

Played junior league ice hockey, wasn't really high school, but all high school aged kids. Played defense but forgot to bring my contacts for the game so the opposing team kept calling me four-eyes. Super original.

One of their forwards came right up to the hash with his head down so I took three good strides and buried the kid. Knocked him out cold for about half a minute. It was a great fricking feeling.

I had a pretty long hitting streak from fall ball into my senior season in the spring. Last 5-6 games of the year I slid into a hitless slump. It was bad. Last AB, solid single up the middle. It was nice to go out on a positive note. Never played again. Skipped summer ball to move to BR. I was ready to move on from sports.

2nd round of playoffs.. Was a a surreal moment, didn't cry but was pretty drained emotionally and excited about what was next.. After Having played a sport ( football) for so long and to have it be over, I really wasn't sure what to do. Had a blast playing but it kicked of the next step in my life as all I could think about afterwards was college..

WE were 5-0 in football and the #1 team in the state came into OUR stadium and we hung with them BIGTIME.. We lost 26-23 in overtime.. This was a great team WE had.. But that was just the 6th game... We went on and lost the next game after being so depressed after the last game. BTW.. I am in Midland Michigan at the time at Midland High school... We lost both games to Flint schools... YES.. They were 90% African American kids.. We were 99% white kids.. This is back in 1978...

Now as far as A lasting memory of the LAST HS experience.... WE got our Groove on against Midland DOW HS.. A school that had won the State title the year before and WHIPPED that arse 35-7... It wasn't that close...........

Went up 7-1 in State Semi Final. Gave up the lead to go down 12-7 in top of the 7th. 2 down nobody out we proceed to tie the game at 12 in bottom half. Bases loaded me on deck and the kid in front of me hits a pop up to the catcher to kill the rally. We go on D, pitcher hits a guy and walks 2, they hit a grand slam. I lead off, we get bases loaded, no outs, and I never leave 3rd. Weird game.

In football, we lost to our rivals in the 2nd round of the playoffs. It felt so surreal when the clock struck 0..after 4 years, it was all over. Didn't really hit me until we were saying our team prayer that we always say before and after games, that this was it. Last time saying this prayer with this team. Last time being with this group of guys. Last time I ever suited up and played football.

In soccer, we made the playoffs for first time in the school's history. Lost 2-1 to Loyola Prep. It was very frustrating as there was a very questionable call from the ref that gave Loyola Prep a penalty kick, and them taking the lead very late into the game. When the final whistle blew, the mood amongst us was very somber, but we had a great sense of accomplishment as we were the first team to make the playoffs. Our coach let us keep the jerseys we played that game in..still have it to this day

on another note, those were the best times of my life. looking back on it, I'd much rather be sweating my arse off in the south Louisiana heat, getting bitched out by my coaches as opposed to having a real job and having to pay bills such simpler times back then

I was on the court as the final buzzer sounded on our basketball season. It was a feeling of what could have been for me and the team.
Our team was mediocre and so was I. In the second quarter of the third game of the year I suffered a freak severe ankle sprain after rolling my ankle while challenging a jump shooter. I was the fifth/sixth man before the injury but missed all but the last two games. It was sad knowing that all I would play was intramurals and men's league games from that point on, but I didn't miss the 3 hour practices and suicides.

Soccer and we lost 1-0 in the state semis and the guy that scored torched me on a run. But our offense was to blame too.

Thanks for the bad memories a-hole.

But no I didn't cry or linger around. It was the day of graduation so I had other shite to worry about.

Chalked the loss up to us being no damn good. Other than no speed, no size, and no talent we might have been better. Went with best friend who'd turn 18 (drinking age then) the next day to Tarrant County because Johnson County was dry. He got carded and the clerk wouldn't sell him beer until midnight... Oops! They closed at 11:30. Perfect ending to the night.

My last high school game was at the LSU PM Assembly Center in the LHSAA Top 24 championship game. We lost a game we should have won. That lost stung for many years. I still wish I could go back to that game and replay it.

Football, 1972 state semifinals, we lost, don't remember the score. Was glad I would never have to practice or play again, it was my dad's thing and I did it to make him happy, 42 years later all I have to remind me of that time are two knees that hurt like hell.
