I more surprised that the Baltimore DA offered PTI to Ray Rice than the NFL's bungling of the situation.

I don't necessarily agree. Trent Dilfer said it best. He said that if the NFL wants their brand to be "we want the best players who also are winners off the field", then they have the right to do that. There's nothing wrong with holding players accountable for their conduct, just be consistent and fair.

He didn't do that in Maryland, it happened in NJ.

It will be a good day when this story is dead and gone.
This is one of the biggest "scandals" that I could not (all better) care less about.

In a perfect world this is true; in the not so perfect world there has to be some sort of in house personal coduct policy just as you would expect from your employees if you owned a business.
If you want your laugh for the day, some poster in another forum referred to Peter King as Goodell's Gunga Din.

I hate when everything comes back to the drug policy. They are totally different issues.
There should be punishments for drugs. They even go as far as saying "the harmless use of recreational drugs". These harmless drugs are often found when the player is driving under the influence of said drugs. Come on, deadspin.

Agree with Deadspin, Stan van Gundy has been saying for years.
At the very least, I'd prefer it to be up to each team, not the NFL. But I do believe the courts punishment should stand as the player's punishment.
