Can't make this shite up. What a circus!
quote:
Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton disagrees with the Minnesota Vikings' handling of the situation involving child abuse allegations against star running back Adrian Peterson. Dayton issued a statement on Tuesday, calling on the Vikings to suspend the 2012 NFL MVP "until the accusations of child abuse have been resolved by the criminal justice system."
FWIW this is pretty silly IMO....but you gotta appease the governor!!!

I am surprised that the NFL hasn't unilaterally suspended him for Week 3 yet. You know it's coming and I thought that Goodell would rush the decision out to tamp down the festering criticism.

To be honest this is just plain dumb. If the Ray Rice incident not blown up last week, this would probably be a non-story by now. This 24hr news cycle that we're living in is constantly making mountains out of mole hills, and inciting public outcry with their over the top sensationalism. I'm pretty sure the circus that happened in Ferguson would have been significantly less had the media not fanned the flames like they did.

Yea, the former MVP and HOF running back getting charged with a felony for beating his kid would be a non-story

I wouldn't call what he did necessarily beating....by saying that I think it implies a lot more than what has been proven. I don't necessarily think Peterson is innocent, but why as a society do we now feel the need to be the judge, jury, and executioner?

Yes, yes - your daddy used to whip you so bad your butt was red for 3 days, and you turned out alright. Pussification of America, right?

This should be handled like any other job in this world. If your employer wants to fire someone for commiting what apperas to be a crime, they should. If not, they should not. This being football and his star status, it more than likely will be not. However if the man gets convicted and goes to prison, well, that's self explainatory.

Have you seen the pics of the kid?
If you have and you wouldn't call it beating, then you are just plain stupid
Wouldn't call that beating huh?

I've told people that several times this week, including a few friends of mine.
I don't have patience at all for the fcktards on this issue. The kid had a whelp on his balls for christ sake.
I would love for there to have been a video of this beating that could have been released. It would make the Rice one punch video look like childs play.

He apparently got him from the ankles to his back and even got his face
Thats a beating
And I'm not the court. I've seen the pictures and read his statement. I can make my own opinion at this point.

you are correct. It would be a story...but it wouldn't have blown up like it did had the Ray Rice situation not happened

TRUE
NFLs feeling the downside of being so gigantic they get a lot of scrutiny and are held to unrealistic expectations

He should be worried about the mosques in Minneapolis that are reportedly radicalizing young people to fight for ISIS. Instead we get this Peterson crap. What a brave governor.

Serious question: didn't the NFL declare serious allegations of domestic violence would bring an automatic 6 game suspension? I would rather focus on the actual game (not the outside issues), but I thought the statement was accusation, not conviction.
Doesn't beating a 4 yr old to the point of leaving multiple bruises at least match, if not exceed, knocking your consentual adult partner cold? I mean, in theory, she can leave the guy, or pull a gun out of her purse and shoot him. The kids can't do a damn thing.
