They should definitely be stressing the female "Talent" level...

I'm not going to get in a big argument over an academic recruiting presentation, but I hope there was more to it than sports and engineering, that's all I'm saying.
Come to LSU, have fun, get and degree and a job
seems legit to me
Actually, LSU has nationally prominent curricula and programs in:
Veterinary Medicine
Petroleum Engineering and all Engineering
AgriBusiness
Landscape Architecture
Music and Dramatic Arts
Mass Communications/Journalism
Internal Auditing
Entrepreneurship
Hurricane Engineering
Coastal Preservation Science and Environmenetal Science
Geophysics
MBA Program
Law
Medicine
It also happens to be a large state university in a state that likes to party, and has one of the oldest and largest Greek systems as well.
And oh yeah, they have a Top 10 Football Program all-time, a top 5 Baseball Program all-timn, and a Top 30 Basketball Program all-time, not to mention a Top 5 Track and Field Program - both men and women, and a Top 10 women's baskeball program.
LSU is also a member of the Carngie Institute's "Very High Research University designation, is one of 30 Land, Sea , and Space Grant universities, and is a Tier 1 Institution.

• The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Flores MBA Program was ranked in the nation’s top 10 by the Wall Street Journal among schools that draw corporate recruiters regionally. After debuting in the rankings at ninth, the program was recently ranked seventh.

Uh... Bama is a good school... Equal to or better than LSU in a lot of departments.

Not in Engineering. LSU and Auburn wipe the floor with Alabama in Engineering. Bama is more of a Liberal Arts school........

I know sports a big deal, but if LSU's academic recruiters are using that as a major selling point, somethings's f'd up, IYAM.
Do you think LSU alumni talk smack to their friends about LSU's academic reputation? Let me know the next time you hear your co-workers discussing the national academic rankings while standing around the water cooler in the break room.

I know.
I never said anything about engineering. Just that Bama is a good school in general. Any LSU fan laughing at the academic prowess of Bama is completely ignorant.

They have an excellent law school FWIW

Yep, I'm an army brat so i'm not from Louisiana originally but graduated HS here. I thought I was going out of state for college but LSU being on TV, the fan base and my love of football opened my eyes to LSU. I went to visit the campus my senior year and never looked back.

We push it way to much in our national ad campaigns IMO.

They were considering Bama because of all the blow on that campus.

A woman from FL that I chat with on another message board is a die-hard Gator fan and she is heartbroken that her only child is a freshman at LSU this year. I keep telling her that she raised a brilliant son.
