80's synth pop recommendations

80's pop is one genre than I am lacking and would like to build a better collection for cocaine binges. What are some good albums or good singles that have that stereotypical 80's synth sound. Also, if anyone knows a good place to collect these songs and add them to a playlist I would greatly appreciate it.
All recommendations welcome
TIA

Danman already made a thread on it
Posted on 9/10/14 at 7:09 pm to Burt Reynolds
Will you post a link to it? I searched but didn't find what I was looking for

As far as albums go check out:
Dare by Human League
New Gold Dream by Simple Minds
Non-Stop Erotic Caberet by Soft Cell
anything by New Order (I like Low Life the most)
Music by the Masses by Depeche Mode
Rio by Duran Duran
Those are some of the best ones in the genre that I've listened to and can think up off the top of my head

Will you link your 80's thread that Burt Reynolds was talking about?

Just search for 80's electro. That was more electro than synth pop though. It had some boss links to extended versions of New Order songs though

I love how hipsters these days have created a genre for every particular little music niche whether it fits or not. There's a Yamaha DX7 so it's gotta be synth pop.
synth pop. yeah... frick YEAH!!
And the danman, it's Music for the Masses and those boss remixes are what made clubs pretty awesome in the 80's. Take a typical alternative song, remix it and making it awesome on tabs.
They would take this LINK and turn out about many remixes. LINK
Rain ----> the remix LINK
OP, here's some pretty good ones IMO:

I gotta be honest here, I really can't tell when you're Fo Realz, trolling, sarcastic, etc. With any of your posts.

OMD
I was just listening to Architecture and Morality the other day. What a fricking great album that is.
Yea OP, check out Architecture and Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
The best two songs on the album imo:
Souvenir
Joan of Arc

This is the best 80's synth song of all time
Oattes Van Schaik- Love Attaxx
Let me know if the link doesn't work, I don't have internet in my new place yet

I like that one also. Funny thing, I saw OMD open up for Depeche Mode on The Music for the Masses tour.
Section 25 - Lookign from a Hilltop
Book of Love - Witchcraft 12" remix
Cetu Javu - Have in Mind

Greatest Hits of Erasure
Vince Clarke leaving Depeche Mode turned out to be the best for both parties. Depeche Mode picked up Alan Wilder which makes Depeche Mode Depeche Mode and Vince has a great project with Alison Moyet in Yaz and then Erasure.
Hideaway remix
Hard to believe now just how progressive these lyrics were back in '87.

Yup. Depeche Mode just hasn't been the same since Wilder left. Wore out every album from Construction Time Again through Violator. Get the Balance Right - Combination Mix was ground-breaking in 1983 when it came out and still holds up today. DM - Get the Balance Right - Combination Mix

Good list.
I'll add to this, Red Flag. Especially their first album which was in 1989, Naive Art.
Great bunch of dance remixes on what I think is called Naive Dance.
