No named storms for first time since 1992

I know that Climate Change people will (haughtily) point out the difference between "weather and climate" and harumph in general. But at some point aren't the bombastic claims of "Category 6" hurricanes becoming the norm by Al Gore and the like going to be held to account?
I thought that Katrina and Sandy were to be "the new normal"? They can't carelessly throw around these doomsday scenarios for reasons to ACT NOW!!!! and then just walk away (or fly back to their 5,000 square foot homes cooled exactly to 72 degrees on their private jets) when nothing comes to pass.

The statistical peak of the Atlantic hurricane season has arrived and for the first time since 1992 there isn’t a named storm in the basin.
While forecasters are watching a pair of potential systems, neither is likely to grow into a tropical storm by the end of today. So far, four storms have gotten names in the Atlantic this year.

I don't know what data your looking at but this clearly shows that AGW I mean climate change is real.

Unpossible!! Global Warming, sky is falling, dogs sleeping with cats, etc.

Higher CO2 levels prevent hurricanes...

Hurricane Odumbazz0 came through in June.

That is the problem with zealotry...now, if there is any hurricane that hits the mainland that is above a Cat 2, climate change will be blamed - even though hurricanes have been hitting coastlines since the beginning of time.
No one can have a rational discussion on these topics though because (a) everyone has chosen teams; and (2) there is so much money on the line - no ability to compromise exists.

Tigah in the ATL will be in this thread calling you a flat earther.

So if this is true than why weren't people pointing this out immediately after Al Gore's claims about super hurricanes, etc?
At what point does Al Gore cause more harm than good to the Global War… errr… CLIMATE CHANGE cause?

AGW is now suppressing hurricanes. Can Mother Gaia endure much more?

Biden lost find the keys to the Dick Cheney Hurricane Machine©. And unfortunately the operator's manual was on Lois Learner's hard drive.

I honestly haven't chosen teams. I swear. I can see both sides and have no idea who is right. But I do see those on the left regularly belittling skeptics which to me is unfair.
You don't have blunders like this in regards to evolution. We don't hear scientists predict or state something that is then proven to be completely wrong in evolution or gravity or even space. We do with global warming. Quite often.

quote:Hmm... supposedly the surface air temps aren't increasing due to AGW because the heat is going into the oceans. Of course warmer oceans... could imply more tropical activity. Just an anecdotal observation, tho...

Every year I do my own unscientific hurricane study during the week of the 4th of July in Gulf Shores. I predict the hurricane season based on the water temperature. The water this year was the coldest I can ever remember......my analysis....very mild hurricane season.

Upper level wind patterns have a big influence on storm formation too. Contrary to popular global average temperatures aren't the sole (or even main) determinate of weather.

Reality is the slow hurricane season proves nothing, but you are 100% correct.
The global warming crowd used 2005 as proof that we were in a new climate. Cat 5 hurricanes were going to be routine. They questioned as to whether we needed a Cat 6 category.
The global warming crowd now is the climate change crowd. They cried wolf too often.
We aren't seeing major hurricanes hitting the US as they told us they would. We aren't seeing record numbers of tornadoes as they told us they would. Many are saying we aren't seeing the temperatures warming as they said it would.
All of this needs to be studied, but the global warming crowd has already distorted the facts and public debate. Now it has become so politicized that science has taken a back seat.
