Josh Gordon Situation

After the initial news came out that Gordon's suspension may not be for the whole year, I stashed him on my bench in both leagues.
Now that it looks like this may be a reality, I got a phone call last night from the commish saying he's upset with the way that fantasy football sites don't "deactivate" players suspended for a season or indefinitely so that they can't be added to rosters until they are activated. He wants to basically take Gordon off my roster and place him on waivers until he's active again, then let him clear waivers and everyone in the league will get a chance to bid on him (we have a FA budget).
I initially told him that while I wasn't really happy with it, I'd go along with it, but now I'm really reconsidering it. He was on the FA market, and I picked him up fair and square. If nothing happens, then I've just wasted a roster spot.
What would you do?

Hell no. In no way is that fair. He didn't have a problem with you holding him while he thought he was suspended. Your commish is an a-hole. And you can't change rules in the middle of the year. I'd tell him to go frick himself.

You made a move that could potentially pay off big time and u made it fair and square. Sounds like ur commish is jealous. I'd tell him to get effed

What in the blue frick?! Why would you even consider going along with this? You picked up a free agent fairly and by the rules and now he wants to remove him from your roster because you were ahead of the curve on it? I would tell him not no, but hell no and that it's insulting to you to even ask. If he doesnt put him back on your roster, then say frick you to the league and bow out.

That your league mate's loss. You held a roster spot for him, you drafted/bought/picked him up after listening to the news on him, you skipped out on other players. I think it's unfair they're going to make it a free-for-all.
They should at least give you whatever amount of FA budget dollars that goes towards him then. - EDIT - Actually F this. You better keep Gordon.

Find commish and punch him in the face. If nobody else wanted to risk it in the draft/FA?waivers, then thats on them. Not you're fault that you're holding out and not grabbing a potential Boom off of waivers.

I'd complain because your commissioner is 100% wrong. You never had an advantage in getting Gordon - anyone could've picked him up. You took the risk of picking up a player who in all likelihood won't play at the expense of a roster spot. Josh Gordon should be on your team and you should brag about your fantasy football greatness if it works out and be prepared to be mocked if it doesn't.

That's a bunch of bullshite. You picked him up. You used the roster spot on him. You took the risk of wasting a roster spot on him. You had to forsight to take a risk on him. You should get the reward.
If the commish want to makes changes like this then he needs to do them before the season starts and not after the fact when you had previously been assuming a different set of rules.

You can tell him that's fine, but the only way you agree is if he allows you to pick a player off of his roster for free.

i drafted him AFTER he was suspended for a year
you have a right to him.

I have to agree with everyone else that is a chicken shite move. If he does pull that I would drop out the league and demand a refund
Posted on 9/9/14 at 8:58 am to LSUGUMBO
In my opinion you'd be justified in leaving this league if he takes Gordon off your team.

quote:I'd raise hell...its all part of risk/reward. Would the guy be saying the same thing if you ended up wasting that pick and Gordon was out for the year? Your commish is a dick
What would you do?

Tell him that you have consulted with TigerDroppings and that he has been found GUILTY of being a little bitch.
Josh Gordon stays on your team.

frick that. If he does it, id drop every one of my players and tell him to go frick himself.
Posted on 9/9/14 at 9:03 am to LSUGUMBO
Commish can eat a dick. If he takes Gordon like that, I quit the league with full refund. Sounds like a horrible commish and a shitty human being.

Sounds like a shitty league/situation.

Ask the commish why he waited until now to complain about the issue.
He's just mad he didn't get him
