The mountains east of the city are beautiful. I think Seattle is spectacular too, but if I was given a choice I'd take SLC. It's subjective though.
Your absolutely right, this is all subjective.
the funny thing is, living in los Angeles, we even have snowcapped mountain ranges there too, so I guess sprawling mountain scenery doesn't impress me as much. The lone standing mt Ranier looks really awesome though. I'm also not awed by views of the open ocean, I really prefer the scenery of an enclosed bay or a "sound".
Id like to visit Portland, I've heard its quite beautiful as well.

Portland is another great city, though it doesn't have that big city feel. Aesthetically, Portland is on Seattles level.

Might just be my favorite city...

Lots of hot Russian and Korean chicks. A lot of the native girls are hipster/feminist types.

My favorite US city. Daughter is going to college there next year and we are building a new home about 50 miles away...we are all counting the days.

Yat, that was the beautiful view of my gf apartment last year.
Found the winters very manageable but after 20 years here I came to realize it is the spring that really gets you and you won't know it. There isn't one.

Seattle is awesome. The dreary fall and winters do suck though.

Best metro area in the US. Good quality of life, great scenery.

Salt Lake City is prettier.
Eh, depends on which way you are looking. Seattle has tidewater, two visible mountain ranges and lots of green.
SLC is a very attractive city though. The view reminds me of a larger Anchorage

Sherman is a thug and only covers one third of the field.

Incredible city I lived there 2 years in my 20's . The weather is godawful . Now in my 50's I couldn't stand it.

I lived there for 1.5 years and I miss it. Wasn't a fan of the weather, though.

Lots dirty hippies.
You could live in Seattle for years and never see one.
Hippies are good people. There aren't many left anymore, just a bunch of wannabes.

Spent 3 days in Seattle in early August. Weather was great, food was great, and the scenery is unbeatable. Only problem was the mass amount of bums/homeless begging for money all over the place. Guy at the hotel said it became a major problem about 5 years ago.
I got offered a job to live there, but couldn't afford the cost of living.

That's normal these days. Even downtown Houston has lots of homeless bums.

There isn't any metropolitan area that I've been to that doesn't have its share of homeless/bums/weird street people. Downtown Seattle isn't bad compared to a lot of places I've been.
