Best BBQ spot in Memphis?

The old man and I are road tripping from New Orleans to Missouri to pick up a boat right now and will be stopping off in Memphis on our way home tomorrow night. Planning on stopping for some BBQ and then finding a place to watch the LSU game. We'll have a big boat trailered to the truck so something close to I-55 or I-40 near the river would be ideal. Just googling has brought up a bunch of names like central BBQ, payne's BBQ, cozy corner, top's BBQ, neely's interstate BBQ, A&R bbq, Charlie verges rendezvous...seem to be the big names. Anyone have any personal experience in the Memphis BBQ game who cares to shed some light?
Bonus round - any suggestion for nearby decent hotel/motel and a good bar to watch the LSU game at your suggested BBQ joint? We're basically driving 24 hours over the span of 48 hrs so need a good place for some R&R and to watch fournette destroy wisky tomorrow night.

My favs are interstate, central, BBQ shop and rendezvous.
However, best meal in Memphis is Gus' Fried chicken. It's really not close either. JMO

Interstate sucks.
Best are BBQ Shop, Central, Germantown Commissary. Go to Rendezvous just to say you've been, if anything. Lamb ribs there are good.
Gus's trumps all

Go to Cozy Corner. NOT close to the interstates, but worth the trip. Get their rib tips or Cornish game hen. They can sweat you some meat up there...

I was there last week and I had ribs all 3 days. The best I had was actually just south of Memphis in Horn Lake, Ms. Memphis BBQ Company and it's right on I-55. Rendezvous was good too.

The place in Horn Lake gets great press for its ribs.

The SO and all his friends swear by this joint. The cheese fritters are supposed to be to die for too.

Where is he supposed to park towing a boat on a trailer around Rendezvous?

That woman can cook. Winningest woman in bbq competitions. Well worth it.
