Apparently they didn't go full retard:

quote:

Offenders will be suspended six games for a first offense, and receive an indefinite ban for a second, with the ability to apply for reinstatement after one year.

I'm guessing they're not going to amend Ray Rice's suspension?

If they choose money over their health/life, then they are part fo the problem. They could lose their meal ticket, but they could lose their life if they dont report it

How about Goodell not be a fricking idiot and be able to use rationale discretion
In fairness, he's proven to be rather incompetent at this too.

Yeah, Goodell using his discretion is how Ray Rice got 2 games for playing the role of Tyson to his wife's Spinks in the first place.

Somehow Greg Hardy's bitch arse will somehow likely escape blame under this policy.

What happens if a crazy spoiled wife literally throws herself down stairs just to hurt her nfl player husband?

They're hearing the feedback from the Gordon suspension

They know they fricked it all up

Policy was written to give them a pass for the 2 game suspension

2nd offense

NFL is becoming pathetic

If it wasn't for fantasy football, I wonder if the ratings would drop as long as Goodell is in office

The rules fall under the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy, which means the league can implement this without input from the union or having to put it into the CBA. That alone is almost as shocking as the severity of the punishments.

Maybe, but not because of this.

I don't care how they got here, as long as they did.

This pretty much confirms why the NFL waited so long with the Gordon ruling

It's been pretty widely reported that the reason they took so long was because of the threats of a lawsuit by Gordon's agent.
