You order it from Kirtland's?

I didn't notice much. The side lights aren't used when running, just when a we have a frog or looking for something in the bottom of the boat or getting ready, etc. I've only been the drive so the spotlight doesn't affect me
My headlamp is always the problem with bugs in my face. And most of my handheld spotlights (non-led) are more yellow light, it doesn't make a difference, if it's on you're gonna have bugs around you. Lots of off is the best answer here.
The LED floods for bowfishing are gonna have yellow tinted film stuck over the lenses though, to penetrate murky water better/cut down on glare.

How did u mount that hydro turf?

Is that max or actual out-the-front rating? I picked up a Fenix PD35 on sale and that thing pumps out 960 OTF lumens on its highest setting and will hurt your eyes if you catch some glare from it at night. 29,000? Might bring in a UFO...

I hope to vaporize tree branches while I'm running sloughs haha
Does anyone know how to mount hydro turf

For those that are mounting lights inside the boat.
Use red or blue lights. Those colors don't blow out your night vision as bad as white or yellow.
OP, that is a lot of light. Wonder how good it will be in fog.

The hydro-turf has adhesive backing

If your hydroturf has backing it's peel and stick. If not 3m spray adhesive and you're in business.

You are right about red light and the bugs...here's my boat

Boats you don't have rocks and stuff hit that light when trailering?

Bought it from gator trax, it has 3m backing on it and got a can of 3m 90 hi strength spray adhesive from them as well. They use both when they mount on their boats. Cleaned surfaces really well with acetone and some other solvent, followed instructions on can, sprayed on, laid down. Pre cut everything first to make sure it fit. Used a rolling pin to apply even pressure to everything after (3m backing is pressure activated adhesive)
All in all it wasn't very difficult. Stuff was like right over 100 bucks a sheet though. Took 2 sheets to do the boat. Spray adhesive was 20 bucks (cheaper than it is online).
And the sheets themselves, gator trax has 4 colors. The pattern we have is called duck grass I believe. It's the only camo they have that comes in sheets that size. It's actually cheaper from gator trax than it is ordering straight from hydroturf, at least for a camo pattern. You have to go to BFE springfield to pick it up, but it's cheaper.

It hasn't been trailered very far yet, but I think the lense is plastic not glass for one (not sure), and second I don't see how my tire would sling a rock up and hit the middle of teh boat like that. The bow should be blocking it and it'll be pretty close to the truck anyway.

where did u get the led light bar? how much?
Posted on 8/28/14 at 10:27 pm to TutHillTiger
Spotlight on my bow was from amazon. Less than $40. 36w Kawell 12 LED
Strip light on sides were also from amazon, like $8 for the roll.
geauxcat's light bar, I'm not sure on either

Thats the problem with lumen ratings, there is no standardized industry practice. I'm sure it will still be really bright.

I got the $69 kawell light.
Edit: buddy tried talking me into a $360 one. I said I can buy 5 of these before I spend that much. If it lasts for 2 years in happy.

I actually don't remember which we got. But I'm assuming it's the 36w one. It's definitely 12 LED. I think it's spotlight only, not spot/flood combo. But it still lights up a pretty substantial area. I can see both banks and pretty far ahead, enough to run full throttle at night with no issues. 2 of these bad boys would be more light than I could ever need on something that goes 25 mph
