I've read about it with fish, but I've never head it. This recipe is for shrimp. Has anyone tried this preparation?

Long time ago, I baked whole chickens covered in rock salt. They were moist on the inside and crispy on the outside.

I've done a red snapper in a salt dome before and it came out great. Never thought about with shrimp. Mixed a bunch of boxes of kosher salt with some egg whites to make a salty paste and cover the whole fish that was descaled, seasoned and stuffed with herbs.
My method looks a little different than that one mentioned though.

I have done a prime rib this way. Thought is came out pretty good. Takes a hammer to break off the rock salt after cooking.

I've heard about the fish and the prime rib. Did you season the salt for the prime rib? I thought the seasonings cooked into the salt was an interesting part of the recipe.
