I am by no means an animal rights activist? Heck, I'm not a huge animal lover. I had the chance to see Blackfish, and while I realize that it presented only one side, it was very eye opening. Who's to say if captivity really isn't detrimental to Orcas and dangerous to trainers?

I know Blackfish was told from one side but some of the facts stated seemed pretty straight on and the film painted Sea World in a terrible terrible light. If just 1/10th of the docu is on point then the place needs to have been shut down yesterday.

Golden Retrievers and Persian cats don't exist in the wild. Pets are domesticated species, there are no wild herds of pugs or milk cows. Orcas are completely different.

How much money is donated to conservation efforts not related to zoos, aquaria, or wildlife parks like Sea World. I'd bet not 1 millionth.

Sea world is a fricking disgrace. An animal that big is not meant to be kept in a fish bowl.

I have no interest in going to Sea World, just like I have no interest in going to a circus. If you want to see wild animals in a more controlled setting, go to a wildlife reserve.
