Side note:

We are several years into the smart phone age.

Why can't people learn to hold their phone in landscape for video?

Based on the law, the cops were justified, but from a moral perspective, I wouldn't sleep good at night if I was one of the cops involved in that shooting. Once it became obvious that the man was using me to commit suicide and had no interest in harming anyone, I would have immediately gone for the pepper spray or Taser, or at the very most, just winged him.

EDIT: The man with the knife obviously belonged in a mental hospital, not a cemetery. I see him similar to the way I see someone who just took a bottle full of pills - both are crying for help.

Hard to tell he has a knife, but doesn't change much. Pretty justified, though I wonder if it's normal procedure for police to exit the cruiser with guns already drawn for simple shoplifting? Did he brandish the knife when he stole the 2 cans of soda? Seems extreme, but again don't have a problem with their use of force in the end. Just think exiting the car with guns already drawn may have escalated the situation.

The guy shooting this video says he had a gun

This is live video. The man says he has a gun. then says he didn't have a gun.

If cops are so well-trained, I don't understand why it would be so difficult to, say, shoot this guy in the kneecap or something. He has a knife. You have guns. Or maybe even taze him?

At any rate, they saved the state a boat load of money.

A guy looking to pick a fight with cops vs. trigger happy cops isnt a good combination.

That's straight up murder. Those cops should both spend time behind bars.

How come Youtube won't allow me to go past the permission page when I keep clicking on "continue"?

I back those cops 100% in that situation. I really want to say more but I will censor myself.

Did the cops have to shoot him? No, that was probably excessive.

That being said, the man literally asked the police the shoot him and then walked towards them very aggressively. I don't feel bad for him.

For those that think that the police could have used any form of non-lethal force to resolve this, I give you a simple challenge. Take your choice of self defense (firearm, tazer, etc) and face off against this individual. Same exact circumstances. Same amount of information. Same amount of time to decide.

And tell me how it works out for you.
