I've finally decided to try out some ebooks... Don't judge me for buying hard copies of books at used bookstores.. And I'm trying to understand what is a good reader and format. I'm using Google books app right now.. Is there something better? What about on iOS?

Find the reader you like and use Calibre to reformat as needed. I'll let you figure out the DRM aspect on your own, when, not if, you get there. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

PDF is what it is as far as layout. The epub and mobi formats are scalable and look better on e-reader devices as you can change text, and it'll fit to the devices width, whereas a PDF will require constant zooming/scrolling.
