How much influence on operations do you think Tom Benson has...

On the day-to-day operations of the organization?
On the product the Saints put on the field on Sundays?
On the team's long term vision?
First, I understand not all team owners involve themselves equally. Jerry Jones =/= Robert Kraft, who =/= Pat Bowlen or Dan Rooney. But I wonder how involved Benson can be at this point. I saw his interview at the last game and I can't see how, with his host of medical problems and advanced age, he could be in control of anything more than the broadest of decisions. The past few years he just seems like he lacks the energy and sharpness to be an active owner. Of course he's earned the right (it's his team after all), but he seems content to sit back and get sauced during games and watch them like a fan.
Do you think Benson just a figurehead at this point, with a lot of behind the scenes folks piloting the ship?

I think he's hired the right people and just sits back and enjoys it

Yes. Guy is 87 years old. I'd imagine a system has been put in place to ensure nothing in management is different when he's gone.

He has a great organizational structure with a great group of individuals. Many owners strive to have what we have w continuity and consistency.

Not much at all.
I would say he is not involved in day to day football operations at all.

Benson doesn't do much at this point. He barely watched 20 minutes of the practice today. His wife will take over the team once he passes not Rita.

True story, but when he first took over the team he asked why the defense wasn't wearing the same color jerseys in practice.

He reminds me of Ronald Reagan. Put good people in charge and let them go to work.

The Benson Camp has stated that there is a transitional plan in place once Benson goes to that great dealership in the sky. And it was bandied about that Dennis Lauscha would have a bigger roll in ownership than people would presume.

Who cares? He's cluless in regards to football.
He knows nothing about football.

Well the owner of the franchise is kind of important since, you know, he owns the team.
He spends money and has since he bought the team. Hopefully it stays that way

Pretty sure he's just a Bama scout now. He can only focus on so much.

Like your Sean Payton rumors?
First, I would assume that his wife would maintain ownership of the team until her death. Second, I guarantee that Benson has protected his franchise, and she won't have the ability to sell the team without dire financial implications.

I also heard from you that you were quitting this site awhile ago

Benson still goes to work every day and runs his business like a business. He does not own a computer and believe it or not, still is in meetings on day to day operation. A board of trustees will run the operation when Benson dies. Fact

Benson is not doing anything different since he bought the team... Didn't matter if it was Jim Finks, Bill Kuharick, Randy Mueller and Now Micky Loomis.
