this shite is hard:

I did one and the hardest part for me isn't the 53 (though the last spot was tough but we have 2 more games to sort it out). It's getting who I want on the PS while keeping positions in mind.
And remember to put Ozougwu on IR (or cut him). He is counting as a roster spot.
Edit:
I just looked closely at yours.

I agree with Lester Earl's.
Rufus Johnson has shown nothing. Powell about the same. Johnson wasn't good enough last year and he hasn't done anything to change that. In fact, they'er doing the Martez Wilson experiment of moving him to every position on the D trying to make it work. He's PS or done.
I just can't justify keeping Powell, who also has done very little, over Pierre Warren. Keep your best 53, forget draft pick status.

For what it's worth I put Powell and Johnson on the PS, though I am considering keeping someone else over Johnson.
Neither look ready for real play or seem like great special teamers.

Good point but I think CSP is looking at potential regardless of play in the preseason
If Powell were to come out of the closet, national media scrutiny would render the point moot

Oh and we should look for a 3rd kicker because neither kicker is separating themslves

Griffin is obvious IMO. Just a matter if we keep 3 qb's this year on mccown

I like the long term prospect of Strozier. He's been looking surprisingly tough as a runner.

I don't understand CSP's acceptance of below avg special teams play (below 16th) and coached by McMahon since 06.
We have been in the 20's in ST's almost every year.
Strozier Powell and RJ all look like PT guys so far.

I have a question about Andy Tanner. Isn't this the last year that he can try out for an NFL team.
if so, why the frick did he again stay and tryout for the saints???
just saying...yeah, he was a strong candidate and probably would have made the team last season if he wouldn't have gotten hurt. But, this season, he had no shot, imo. Dude, do your homework and go tryout somewhere else!

He made the team last season, but got cut and put on the PS after Meachem was signed.

quote:No. Last year was the last year he was eligible for the PS. There is no limit to how many times you can try out for teams.

I agree on not keeping cadet, dude has shown me too little. Rather keep someone with upside like stozier

He hasn't impressed me much as a runner, but he hasn't been getting very good blocking either. He looks best on screens.

He's looked good catching the ball to me. Made a really nice catch in the game this weekend. He would have scored in Game 1 had the OL made the block he was supposed to.
He's beeb running the ball in practice well when he plays behind the 1st team line. He has the longest run in practice, and made another nice run today i saw for about 20 yards.
The thing with keeping Strozier is that he played defense in college mainly. Asking a rookie to take over the duties as our pass catching back may be a tough transition for him. Cadet has been in the system 3 years, and they've kept him all this time. He must be doing something right.

I like him catching passes, but I don't like him taking the handoff.
I can see a roster spot may be needed for a guy like that. Just figured Thomas, Robinson, Ingram, and Cooks could handle that stuff.

I suspect we will have a few guys with "a knee" before final cuts. Guys like Sunseri and Pierre Warren could find themselves on the PUP. Powell and Fortt are almost guaranteed to be on IR, imo.

maybe he will get cut, id be surprised though if Strozier is kept over him. Im not exactly sure what he has shown to beat out Cadet
Posted on 8/17/14 at 9:51 pm to Lester Earl
Strozier got blown up a few times on blocking assignments. The dude is tiny. He's destined for the PS for some seasoning.
Posted on 8/17/14 at 9:51 pm to touchdownjeebus
Nobody can go on PUP now. If you aren't put and kept on PUP before training camp you can't be put on it later.
On Cadet, I always knew he was good at catching and poor at running so nothing has surprised me from what I've seen of him.
While I like the potential of Strozier(who was a HB first and then was moved to CB this past year), I don't think he's ready to take a spot on the 53. I do think he is ahead of Flanders for our PS HB spot. Maybe next year he'll take over the 3rd/4th HB role.
