Jim Finks isn't an icon in New Orleans

The Bucs, Seahawks, Bengals, Titans/Oilers and Cardinals ahead of the Saints is laughable.

The Bengals and Seahawks both have multiple SB appearances, but yeah there is no scenario in which TB should be higher ranked than NO

I'm almost positive the Bengals just have one SB appearance, not multiple.

nope they lost to the 9ers twice

The Saints didn't have a winning season through their first 20 seasons.
The only one I don't really understand is the Bucs.
Cards - in the league for 47 more years than the Saints
Titans/Oilers - in the league for 7 more years than the Saints and have been to the playoffs 21 times.
Bengals - went to 2 superbowls
Seahawks - went to 2 won 1

The Cardinals are ranked higher than NO because they won two championships in the 20's or something. Kinda ridiculous. They actually have less playoff appearances than NO despite being almost half a century older, too.

This is where it gets stupid. Some HoFers played for multiple teams, and season awards like that are subjective/biased toward big market teams.

1958 Dwight Eisenhower was in the White House, the US only had 48 states, NASA didn't exist yet, and they still hadn't played MLB baseball in California.
Since then the Detroit Lions have won a total of ONE PLAYOFF GAME and they are #17 on the list.

How is Pittsburgh not #1?

They were the Saints before the Saints. Pre-1970 Steelers were unimaginably bad. Tampa Bay bad.

You're right they did lose the Super Bowl twice to the 49ers. Idk how I missed that.

49ers seemed like smoke and mirrors back then. As I recalled, they floundered around a couple seasons afterwards before regaining their stride, although Montana really emerged as a premier QB during that time.
I can't buy into any ranking that has the Giants top 2. Even in their Super Bowl seasons they often weren't considered "great".
edit to adjust the Giant's place, and really, the Pack too. There was a huge stretch between Starr and Favre where they weren't any good.

How do you keep the Oilers/Titans together, yet separate the Browns/Ravens? Sure, there was an expansion team given that same uniform, but the Raven's lineage traces directly to the "good" version of the Browns. If you go by the actual team, they would be way up there.
I would say go by city, but that would make a mess with NY; you could add conference but then you have cities like Seattle that swapped over (also Pittsburg, Cleveland and Baltimore).

I've watched the Saints since 1977 so I'm well aware of their first 20 years. The Cards though are one of the worst, if not worst history in the NFL. They've had 47 more years of futility than the Saints.
The Bengals lost two Superbowls. I'd say winning one is leaps and bounds superior to losing two. In fact their is a poster in this thread that couldn't recall if they'd made it to more than one.
Oilers/Titans made one Superbowl and had some "near success" during the 1970's. They are suspect being placed ahead of the Saints. How many Titans fans wouldn't trade their history for the Saints' history and a Superbowl win?
Seahawks? Maybe. I just recall the Jim Zorn years and their history of futility. I suppose their being ahead of the Saints is fair.

Pretty much sums it up, well done sir.

The Oilers had some great runs that were always foiled by having a conference rival that was their kryptonite - be it Pittsburgh or Buffalo. They were one of the better franchises in the AFL, too.
They have a far better history than TB or Arizona, really.
