I don't like Obama. I like facts. Fact is the deficits now are lower than they were over a decade ago in terms of real dollars

You seem pretty happy about this deficit so you should be praising congress. They have the power of the purse.

A decade ago = 2004
And depending on where you get your info the data will vary slightly.
The point is a 460 billion dollar deficit is nothing historically large and not anything anyone cared about a decade ago.

Yes they do.
I'm just pointing out good news. But some people believe there is no such thing as good news during periods where they don't like the person in the oval office. THAT is what you call simpleton thinking. Reject all good news as bad because it happened during someone's presidential term regardless of whether the president had anything to do with it.

Now if you have any other extremely stupid fricking questions, please ask someone else.

I'll be curious to see how this is spun as a bad thing.
So, we have the highest collection of tax revenues of ALL TIME, yet we are STILL running deficits that are nearly half a fricking TRILLION dollars.
Can Liberals finally admit that spending is fricking WAY out of control?

A decade ago = 2004
quote:Neither is true. It was, at te time, the largest deficit in history. It was the largest deficit of the Bush administration. And plenty of people cared. Shall I post what Krugman said if the Bush deficits?

The deficit is shrinking though. Do trends mean nothing to you?

This would be Obama's best year, and the deficit would "only" be 460 Billion which is still higher than W's worst year.
2013 - $901 billion budget deficit (projected)
•2012 - $1.1 trillion budget deficit
•2011 - $1.3 trillion budget deficit
•2010 - $1.3 trillion budget deficit
•2009 - $1.4 trillion budget deficit
•2008 - $455 billion budget deficit
•2007 - $162 billion budget deficit
•2006 - $248.2 billion budget deficit
•2005 - $319 billion budget deficit
•2004 - $412.7 billion budget deficit
•2003 - $377.6 billion budget deficit
•2002 - $157.8 billion budget deficit

Interesting that I got different numbers from the same website

You're looking at trends differently than I do. The trend I see is a constant, massive growth of debt, which has major consequences.
This is how you're looking at it: 1) year one, I gain 50 lbs. Year two, I only put on 25 lbs. You would claim that I'm "moving in the right direction".
