I have a friend who pisses me off about how much he loves la tech. He basically thinks they are just like LSU. Long story short,He bet me if Tech gets past 6 wins and LSU only gets 8 wins or lower, he gets $1000. If tech gets less than 6 wins and we get 9 wins or higher, he owes me $2000. Thoughts?

I'm guessing if both teams eclipse their respective win mark it's a push?

Makes sense. Tech fans comparing them to LSU with the expectation of fewer wins against lesser competition.

I know very little of Tech's schedule or team for that matter but I'd like to think LSU can get 9 wins this season. So worst case would be push. Seems like a fun reason to watch more football which is always okay in my book.

Still my favorite poster SSROUGE!

And I laugh if he really thinks LaTech is on a similar level to LSU but says they only need to win 6 vs 9 in a lower conference.

That's a stupid bet. Your friend is smarter than you are or maybe just a coward.
Make your friend man up. Bet on which team has the better season.
If it's a tie, each of you gives $1000 to charity.

I would ignore him and not try to compare apples to oranges. If you want to make some money, take the bet.

TT is project at 6.5 wins
LSU is projected at 9 wins.

So most likely case is you push but with him giving you 2:1 odds I'd probably take it.

I'm not gonna pretend like I know a whole hell of a lot about the teams in C-USA, but Tech starts out

@ Oklahoma
@ ULL
@ North Texas
Northwestern State
@ Auburn

So that's 2 almost guaranteed losses and I'd imagine they will be underdogs at UNT and at ULL. So they could easily start the year 1-4. Can they go 5-2 through the rest of their conference schedule? Maybe. I have no idea, but I also don't think LSU does any worse than 9-3 this year, so I'd be damn tempted to take the bet getting 2:1 odds.

i think you'd win the bet, but the losing combo of forking out $2K and LSU having a 8 or fewer win season would be awful.

While I'm usually optimistic, I wouldn't just bet on 9 win or more this year. I think LSU will cover that, but there are so many unknowns on offense this year.

I met a Tech student at a bonfire in 2012. He assured me that La Tech was the best team in Louisiana by far that year. All I could do was . That kind of delusion is unrivaled by anyone I've ever met.
