I wasn't specifically talking about you. You made a general statement about people ruining the board bc they respond to bad abbreviation, grammar, and the intelligence of a person's insight. I was saying I agree with those people.

Pomanski is right about the DTs. I said this in another thread that if the DTs don't occupy and the guards and they get to the next level then it doesn't matter if you have the next Ray Lewis at MLB, he won't be effective. That doesn't absolve Welter of his own deficiencies, but don't expect Beckwith or Garrett to become world beaters if the DTs can't keep them clean.

The truth. People who don't know squat just resort to attacking another poster. Tiger Lee has thick skin. And that is a good thing. But the truth is, and I am not defending Welter and his lack of speed and missed tackles, but the defensive line let offensive guards through the entire season to attack our linebackers. It won't take much to improve the DL position after last year. Oh, I abbreviated Defensive line. I hope that I didn't lose to many of you

From your statement, it sounds like you are defending welter's poor play last year. Then in the second part of the quoted paragraph you go on to say that it was the DT's fault. Do you really think that Welter's poor performance was a result of freak and ego? That's an absolutely absurd thing to claim. Is this a pineville/alexandria radio host?

While the DTs weren't great, there is no way you can say Welter is a good player.
He isn't fast enough and he doesn't make up for it with tackling

Well, my hope is that we get a heavy rotation at DT. We don't lack for bodies, just experience. I doubt he becomes a big part of the mix due to the clearing house delay, but I really wanted Valentine to get here because he has the size to occupy the middle and I think he could make a big difference for our LBs. If Herron does start, then we just got even lighter at DT and I know the thought is he will be more disruptive, but it might be at the expense of our LBs. This is where we do benefit with Beckwith or Garrett vs Welter. They are a little bigger and can take on blocks better than Welter. The good news is that I only see 2 power running teams that I suspect will give us trouble. Wisky is a big test, but I think we can stack the line on them and score on their D. Bama obviously is the other. Last year it was Georgia as well, but we don't play them. I think athletically we match up well with Auburn and A&M and the Gators O just doesn't scare me.

Well yeah offense is the concern but if defense is at the level last year we're going to lose a lot of games. Offense is not going to be as good as last year.
