Looking for a Job Sucks!

Man o man am I having a bad week. I sold my share of a company I started last November and have been on the sidelines for a while and started really looking for a job in earnest in April.
I took sometime in May to travel and in June to go to Israel but have been pretty disciplined in looking for a while.
I am a corporate finance M&A guy with an MBA and 15+ years of experience and am getting damn tired of hearing "we decided to make the role more junior" or some variant.
Before I started the partnership I was in I made some damn good deals so I have a proven tracked record on being able to find and close deals so I am not sure what is going on.
I am not sure why I am throwing this on the OT (I must be wanting some abuse) but here it is.
How about some job search stories - good, bad, ugly. Things you did to nail the dream?
Oh and here is a picture of of tits for your time:

Job market is awful for white collar workers.

I've been trying to find something new for about two months.
I'm about give out.

I hear you. I've been looking too.
It seems a lot of companies are just sitting on the sidelines.
It's good to be on top, that's all.

It is easier for OT'ers to create jobs than to find them.

Been looking a couple months, got an interview Monday. Been practicing my "frick you, I quit" speech in my head for about six months to a year. Leaving this job will be orgasmic. Good luck bro,

I was a finance major and worked for a major bank in charlotte for 2 years. Started looking and it took 8 months for me to find a new one i somewhat liked. Only had 3 interviews with companies I really liked between then. There are a lot of garbage jobs out there but definitely don't settle. If they really are junior roles you've heard back from you wouldn't want them anyways.

I completely feel your pain. I filled out over 100 applications and drained every resource and network that I had, no matter how small or distant.
Good luck. You'll need it.

I have recently started looking again and I can tell you that it is insanely competitive and a very tight market.

Those are some nice tits, but I'm surprised they didn't try to poke your eyes out. Our blues go fricking nuts when you get within 25' of their nest.

I've had two calls this week from companies wanting me to consider a position with them, and I'm not even looking. Feast or famine I guess. Good luck, it'll happen.

when economy tanks, white collar desk jobs are the first to go. physical labor jobs are still there because labor is still needed no matter what, but us ot ballers are too good for jobs like that.

Finding one sucks worse

The shitiest thing about a career is the more experience and salary you get, the harder it is to find a job elsewhere. I've overinflated myself enough where I'm at that if I ever get laid off or fired, I'm f***ed.
